    Hi there.

Long time Ferrari fan, owner of many Porsche's, and soon to be F458 owner. Was hunting and dealing hard on a low-mileage F458 and got hooked with Cauley Ferrari in MI. Am number two in line and MAY get the order placed in the March allocation, definitely April. Late summer delivery!

Rosso Corsa is a great way to start off with your Ferrari. In person that color just looks outstanding. Might want to consider the racing seats; many but not all find them superior to the standard seats. Also the dark gray sport sills define the sides of the car better as they make a visual difference for not a lot of money.
Now all you need is Patience!

    Thanks all.

Will give the recommendations some thinking during the WAITING period.

Found out later today I am order # 536 in the Ferrari NA system.

I got very lucky - found a dealer looking for orders, I took all of 4 hours to nail down the configuration and sign the agreement, and send my deposit. Now we are rocking for potential build assignment this month or next.

Definitely see if you can get the sports sills. $1300 or thereabouts. Huge difference in appearance. Not the CF, the paint.

Sport wheels seem to be missing? The stock wheels will add about 40 lbs, times a muliplier of 6 for every pound of unsprung weight = the equivalent of 240 more pounds the car has to move.

Good question - can't stand convertibles myself. Just me. Wouldn't own one. I think the coupes look far better.

Thanks all for the feedback. I will check out the sport wheels and sills.

Talked to my dealer Friday night. Ferrari NA calls them mid-month for the car allocation. Could be next week. The have regularly getting 2-3 cars a month and I got lucky enough to be number 2 for the March call.

I dont usually post but this is ridiculous. 6x?!

Rotating mass should be multiplied by 1.5-2.0 at the very most.

Went to visit my dealer yesterday on a business trip layover. No Ferrari dealer in Minnesota.

I am number 1 on the their list and they are expecting their call for allocation any day now from Ferrari NA.

My dealer also told me that the Regional Sales office told him the next batch of F458s would likely be 2013 MY. Told me to expect Aug/Sept delivery.

Congrats! Completely understand the excitement of being #1 on the list! Hope they're able to confirm soon!

But by the schedule the dealer has indicated (aug/sept) delivery, it's unlikely to be MY2013. For it to be delivered then, it would mean it needs to be produced before the summer break (say apr/jun). Retooling and any reconfig of the production line is typically implemented during the summer break, hence post sept cars, at the earliest, will be designated MY2013.

Nonetheless, is an exciting time now waiting for the confirm and slot! Good luck!

Yes, August typically comes with the next model year so, this August and later would be the 2013's.

Was top of list at my dealer after getting on the list in March.

Last day of April and Ferrari NA just called for the orders.

My car order was place for July/Aug production and IS DEFINITELY a 2013 Model Year.

    Yeah!!!!

When you configure the car, it appears that the painted sills come with the car. The options are carbon fibre or "outer sport sill cover" that appears to be light grey. Can someone please clarify?

Thanks, and I got the call today to get my order into the system.

No, the painted sills do not come with the car.

Painted sports sill cover is $1179 extra. If you don't order this, it comes in the body color. You can order the painted outer grill in different colors other than just black, depending on the basic body color you choose.

The CF sports cover is very expensive at $8263. I'm not sure if that includes painting part of it body color. If you don't paint part of it body color, the sill extends up the body line to about half way up the wheel arch.
