hello everyone ! after selling my previous 1979 308 gtb (#28627) i was missing it and realized it was a "mistake" to sell it. i prefer the gtb and 1979 and earlier... since i don't want to cough up the dough for a dino... this is the car that scratched the itch. plus being a member of generation x in my minds eye the jet fighter silhouette of a 308 is what comes to my minds eye when i think of ferrari. my new car is a black on black - all original except nose touch up, 37k miles. comprehensive recent service - new period correct michelins - shocks - brakes - tune - battery etc excited to be back in the saddle ! Nice car Archibald. These cars are probably very easy to regret and that is why I still have mine even if I've been thinking about selling since a few years. Everytime I look at it I'm proud to own it. Congratulation and enjoy it as much as you can. For a long time!
Beautiful GTB you have there! We're 6.5 inch wheels standard on a 79? Were they even an available option?
i believe these are 7.5 inch width wheels.... at least thats what came with the car according to the original window sticker.
Hmmm, maybe it's just the angle of the picture. If you look at the wheel, it should indicate the size. If they are 7.5, the wheel should state 7.5 X 14.
Very nice. Looks like a sister to my '77 GTB, #21169. Mine was black/black stock but a previous owner did the seats and door panels in red. Image Unavailable, Please Login
do you mean sideview mirror in the door ? as i recall it can be remedied by just tightening the bolt ? or is there a different remedy ? thank you.
Yep, sorry, should have been more specific: side view mirror on the driver's door. And you're correct, they are easily tightened with a simple allen screw... They tend to loosen from vibrations of door shutting / slamming. On my car, I've been meaning to put a dab of loctite (the low strength version) to see if it helps. Cheers! Ruben
sorry, i can't resist (and i also cant get the photo to post in yhe correct orientation with the iphone ) Image Unavailable, Please Login
