    Hi guys,
i was thinking if you guys would give me some pointers.

this june i would be moving to NYC for school( parsons school of design )
here in vancouver i drive a bmw 745i
and i might bring it over to nyc
but i heard it is not a good idea to drive a car in nyc. what if just for weekends wher could i go ?
if to school and i live in the city i gues i would take the subway??
i recently went to see a the new porsche 911 997
i quite like it, but would a used ferrari be too expensive to maintain. modern ferrari..355 or 360
if i get the new 911 it would cost around 80k? and it can be everyday car. but in nyc i gues it wouldnt be used everyday
if i get a used 360. used one is for ??$$
would it be easy to maintain or would it cause a problem
would i be able to get a used 360 for around 100k?

    THank you .

    1) in city itself u dont need a car, unless u wanna go somewhere on weekends.
    2) i will always consider a used 996TT before buying a new 997 or 997S. u get much more performance, and not taking the huge(i mean HUGE) initial depreciation.
    3) 360 for 100k, will be a euro with some miles.

    i agree with woodear..

u don't really need a car if you're not going anywhere on weekends... i live in manhattan and garage my 996... the only time i take her out is on weekends and it's a ***** to find parking

also, ive gotten so many garage attendants messing up the car, dinging it, keying it, etc. etc. NOT WORTH THE HASSLE

If you do bring a car in the city, make sure you find a respectable garage that will let you park your car yourself and then buy the spot

oh and spring for the turbo... used ones can be had for a decent price these days

if u know when legal parking times start on what streets and in which areas, parking should not be a problem. i park my 360 anywhere on the street wherever i go. but sometimes it may be a hassle.

dont be afraid to bring a car into the city. if u plan on driving a lot to save money on cabfare, or u just hate the dirty subways, it would be a good idea to bring the car out.

but since this will be ur first time in the city, it's always good to learn how to 'ride the subways'.

    Hey...

I've had a car in the city for 12 years. If you depend on driving to clear your head and escape from time to time, bring it.

Especially, if you're from Vancouver, you'll need to escape the concrete jungle.

    Enough said...
