Got a small amount of touch-up paint mixed to match my car for a few rock chips I had.

The owner at the paint / finishing shop advised using as little as possible when applying, so I did just that.

He said it should be good to keep for about 6 months if kept in a cool dark place.

    Robb,
The best way to store paint is to tape the cover and store it upside down.

I had inquired in another thread in the past when I first bought my car.
about the base coat/primer on the 355

I have a rock chip on the front hood vent on my car, and you can see red underneath.
which is clearly the case in your picture too.

I thought maybe it was a repainted part from a red car.
    but I guess not anymore.

If it is a single stage urethane and hardener was mixed in it won't last long no mater what you do. If it doesn't have any hardener it will take at least a few days to dry, and then will still remain soft and easily removed with reducer.

The way to fix a chip that bad is to sand it, fill with glazing putty, sand, then prime, base coat, clear coat with an air brush.

No hardener in the touch up paint.

I definitely do not claim to have skills. :)

Best I could do - shown a couple hours later.

I've got a couple up front but will wait until I wash the lower bumper this weekend to do those.
