Very excited about this new POS. The thing just goes and goes like a runaway freight train. As soon as the car was dropped off I took it out to I87 and ran into a brand new black M5 (anybody here?) I absolutely destroyed his car from a 2nd gear roll. The best way to describe this car is that it seems to accelerate quicker the faster you go. The fit and finish is better then my previous GM sportscars (although I still can't figure out how to close the trunk -wtf?).

I hope to get some better pix this Sunday as a few of us are going to take a leisurely stroll through Manhattan.

This car is definately a blast to drive.

Glad u blew away the M5. Look forward to hearing your results when you are on the track against the Ferrari 360 and 430. Dependiong on driver/talent, you stand a very good chace at passing them :)

MAN, color me very, very happy for you. The new Vette is an amazing car.

Thanks Steve! Listen, 99.9% of track driving is driver. I had the chance to get a ride with Ian Prout (owner of SCDA1) in his sister-in-laws limegreen VW Bug (it even had a flower in the center console) he was passing race-prepped cars and even a CraftsMan Series truck! This was a bonestock (and leased) 4cyl car! I never got near to 70% of my old Z on the track, so I doubt that I can match that.

I plan to hit LRP in the Spring with SCDA1.

    Thanks gang!

Agreed to a point. Did you ever see the video of the n'ring gal taking a CARGO VAN for a lap and doing amazing time while also passing cars. Think it was Top Gear video. Anyone got a link, really amazing video footage and i can't seem to find it :(

So yeah, amazing what a great driver can do... even when driving a cargo van!

Part of the right of passage of getting a new Corvette is having your wife pose on the hood in her bikini (even she has no business wearing one).

It's hard to sit in the office and not run out and drive it.

If you like it why is it a POS? Would you call it a POS over at the Z06 forum?

From one of my old chums:

randyroo98: I still hear the hardest thing about buying a corvette is telling your dad you're gay
    randyroo98: is that still true?

Bob, if I thought Corvettes were POS'...would I keep buying them? Leave it to you guys to pee in my Cheerios. I was just being humble about a new car I bought, not trying to insult CFNE (which apparently everyone seems to think I like to do). If I wasn't proud of this car, I wouldn't be posting pictures of it on a Ferrari board. If me buying a new C6 Z somehow offended you, I apologize. Just cause "my posting privies" have been revoked on a certain forum, my name has been sullied by liars, and the truth distorted -- doesn't mean I don't like Corvettes.

With that, I'm going to read the owners manual of my pos to figure out how to work the car. Since, so far, the only thing I've used is the gas, clutch and brake (in that order).

    Happy Holidays People.

Thank you Ed. I was just being "tongue-and-cheek", I absolutely love the car, and would've sold my right testicle to own it (already sold my left one on the silver Z).

    Be well, and happy holidays.
