I haven't really had a chance to drive it the way I'd like. I did notice that it is much more responsive and easier to control at high speed than I would have thought. It is super fast and will actually set you back in the seat. The boost I can tell its there and ready at any second.

The Techart Daytonas are nice! 18s or 19s? Any other mods? If it is stock, a tune really wakes up the car. I have the UMW stage 1 tune with k16/24 turbos.

Congrats - always liked the 996 turbo and don't understand why they haven't gone up in value like so many others. Enjoy!

It is not the x50 that's the only bummer. 19 inch wheels. No other mods yet.

Anyone have any experience with the unichip. Ads 95 horse plug and play to the turbo.

IIRC, the Unichip is a piggyback style ECU that you have to mount under your dash and install a switch for different fuel maps. It is a bit of work for the same hp that can be accomplished in a flash. If you want that kind of tuneability, you can also try Cobb Tuning. It is much easier to use with many, many more features such as a datalogger, dtc reader, timer, gauge panel...

That don't sound like plug and play to me.

That's why I never considered the Unichip. UMW requires you to download your software version onto a device the size of a Zippo lighter, ship it back to them, then install it when it is shipped back to you. You then ship the device back to UMW. Kind of a PITA with the mailings, but it only take about a minute to do the downloads. However, there is a breakin procedure Kevin wants you to go through that takes a bit of driving. IIRC, it was drive at no more than 2k for 5 miles, 2k-3k for 5 miles, 3k-4k for 5 miles. Then you can flog it and what a difference it made!
