Hi Hot off the press. i shall be receiving my first delivery of the new production of 240/55VR415 Michelin TRX thatt fitted some of the Ferrari 512BB cars. Quite a bit of indiscion from Ferrari as to whhat to fit on this car, but i think it is the 512BBi cars. The later cars fitted 240/45VR415 Front and 280/45VR415 rear, which i'm sorry to say i don't have jet. Regards Dougal
Can anyone qualify the dates when these cars changed from 215/70VR15 to 240/55VR415 to 240/45Vr415 & 280/45vr415?
Never is when that happened on a boxer. The rear rims are wider than the front on a BBi but the 4 tires are the same size. Only the BB had wider rear tires and rims than the fronts. BBi never wore the Testarossa rears.
Hi I wonder where that came from then? The current Michelin guides, list 512 BB fitting 280/45VR415 rear and 240/45VR415 front, which has always suprised me because; although a 280/45VR415 is only 12mm (half an inch) smaller (just a couple of wheel spins really) than a 240/55VR415 TRX, the 240/45 VR415 TRX is 29mm (over an inch) smaller, which is notable and it seemed strange having different diameter tyres on a car that usually has the same diameter. So i always did wonder. None of my period fitment guides recommend the different tyres front and rear, (though i don't have a 1985 guide for some reason). I'm sure i have had a customer that bought this set up for his car and was convinced they were right. which backed up what Michelin say, and is also the reason we list it on our web page Ferrari 512BB | Longstone Tyres Does anyone know of a 512BB fitting 280/55VR415 TRX tyres on the rear? (sorry Newman, i don't mean to doubt your word, but Ferrari were a bit tricky about things like this) If not i shall correct my web page to suit. The 240/55VR415 Michelin TRX that are on my shelf today were made in the 42nd week of 2015. they're virtually still warm.
