I used the fine weather of yesterday to have the first real drive since changing the twenty year old tyres for fresh rubber. Most noticeable is the smoother ride ... bumps are ironed out and less vibration coming through the steering which also feels more direct. I have not tried the car in the wet yet, but I will certainly feel more confident. Having driven in the wet with the old tyres, I did experience a couple of bum-clenching moments and this with old tyres with lots of tread. I recommend that, if in doubt, get them changed. Which i suppose is a good job for me or i would be out of a job.
