Pretty nice. I've been debating on what style of lift to get and the portability of this along with the price may sway me. It'd be easy to take it to the track and make work a lot easier.

Too bad about the 3500 pound capacity, that wouldn't work with my 550 or my e39. It'd be fine for my VW Thing, though. :)

Do you know if they plan to expand the range?

yes, a 5,000lb. version is planned. Initially they said early next year, now they are just saying next year.

Good to know. I'd be very interested in one of those.

If you go to Bend-Pak's web site, this looks like a portable version of their 6000 lb pit lift.

I have Eagle's version of the 6000 lb LR-60P, and the 3600 lb EVO isn't rock solid on it, so I'd be leery of a featherweight lift, unless you needed to carry it in the trunk or run it on batteries.

First and foremost the link you provided leads to another car forum and not to the actual manufacturer. I see no viable use for this product regarding actual maintenance, it is just a "play" off F1.

    Just my take.

F1??? I can't picture Alonso or Massa waiting 10 seconds for their car to get up in the air (best to stick with the manual jack man). On the other hand Vettle definitely has plenty of time to kill and I'm sure folks are getting tired of his 2.6 second pit stops. I bet people would stop booing him if he at least slowed down or let Webber have the better car every now and then.

Yes as these lift's were used in F1 before they went all hydraulic.

    Peace.

I have 2 Back Yard Buddy lifts in my garage and I am very happy with them. They are made in the USA are moderately expensive around 5K but very high quality. They weight about a ton each so I had them delivered to a local company that delivered and installed them one afternoon. Certainly worth considering if you are in the market for a lift.

I also have a BendPak HD-9 4 post lift with a rolling hydraulic jack and jacking tray, used to get the entire car off the ramps for maintenance (you can see it in my link). One thing that made me decide on this lift, when compared to other competitors lifts, was the secondary locks that automatically engage if/when a cable were to ever stretch/break (which is highly unlikely but nonetheless adds another level of safety).

Anyway, the QuickJack will most likely be used by many as a track tool (it's primary objective) or as a 2nd or 3rd lift. Although I can definitely see someone who's in a rental situation, or any other situation that won't allow them to permanently install a 2 or 4 post lift, starting out with this unit. This lift is also a great option for folks that have low ceilings or are having to work out of a single bay garage. Each hydraulic ramp weighs 45 pounds and is 5' long, 10.5" wide, and 3" tall so it's really portable and easy to install in cramped quarters, like an enclosed race trailer.
