    What if it starts to rain in the middle of the race? Are they allowed to change tyres? What if the team found a big crack on the tyre, can they change it?

    If it rains they can change.

    Race tires tend to work or don't work! In other words they hold air or don't. If the tire's running flat I understand the rules to say they can change that one tire. Having one fresh and three well scrubbed tires is not a set up I'd like to drive with. But, if you're an F1 pilot you get paid to do the job.

    Can the team replaced the tire with a pre-scrubbed tires instead of a brand new one?

    What happens if it rains (thus they change) and then it dries out again ... do they have to resort to the original set?

    According to the Speed commentators, if they get a flat, they have to change to one of the tires from the practice sessions.
