I agree with what you say about old designs offering few clues as it related to the past. However that was before Mr. Manzoni started to design new Ferrari models. Since his arrival the past has been a big influence on the new designs. Ferrari Design goes back three models and review what was done in the past. Then they start to develop new ideas but mindful of the previous design choices. I think there is no better illustration of this than the way that the California design evolved into the new Portofino style. That is why I believe the more aggressive look of the F8 will hold clues to the BB design. You can see also how this works comparing the 488 with the Pista where the design become for lack of a better word more 'intricate' with layers vs the clean 488 look. Image Unavailable, Please Login the Pista Spider with enhanced style detailing plus a more open look to the front > Image Unavailable, Please Login Then the F8 Tributo which is the closest look at the coming BB design. Image Unavailable, Please Login in this view the F8 lacks some of the fine design details show-cased by the Battista in the 2nd picture below > Image Unavailable, Please Login With different engineering requirements the Battista has a cleaner look to the design. As previously mentioned the BB has some of the Battista's design characteristics present... Image Unavailable, Please Login the 'boxes' are more subtle on the Battista but air flow has different requirements here than on the front of the 8 cylinder F8. How much of those 'boxes' are design driven vs engineering required will perhaps be revealed with the BB nose design!
Some people were invited in Maranello for a private preview in late May (29, 30, 31) but we don't know when all the other people will be able to see it: could be June or maybe September (Frankfurt Motor Show) as some suggested a while ago. And to answer your second question, yes, It will be faster than the LaF according to Enrico Galliera.

If I may ask a couple of questions: 1) Is the hood design very similar to the 488's? Image Unavailable, Please Login ..and 2) are the blue lines near the side skirt representing an intake a la 16M/Scuderia? Image Unavailable, Please Login Grazie. @ingegnere Happy Easter to you too!
If it looks like this I would be a happy man. Thanks for the render Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Hi, 1/ If you're asking how I drew the hood, I did not draw it as the 488. If you're asking if the car will have a hood like 488, I don't think so because pretty sure it will have a more evolved version of the Pista S-duct and already on the Pista they opened up the middle of the hood where on the 488 there was no venting. But, then again, I have to say that on the latest pic of the test car on a highway the nose looks quite pointy so maybe an Enzo/LaF-type nose? Image Unavailable, Please Login 2/ Here again I'm using the latest cars as reference and there haven't been many (any?) since 430 with brake cooling scoops in front of the rear wheels. I drew a skirt similar to SP Monza that intersects the wheel opening in front of the wheel. Ciao.

the laferrari tenso concept looked like a real space-ship and it incorporated the suspended/floating front concept. later this concept was applied into j50. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ferrari know exactly what they are doing, you are never going to see any prototype at Fiorano that Ferrari does not want you to see. It is far too open and visible a track to run any form of bodywork that resembles a future car if you want to retain secrecy.
Thanks for your thoughts, I agree with them and that's why I asked PPG70 (the author of the post I quoted and of the sketches with blue* and yellow** lines). * Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login ^ When I saw PPG's additions to your sketch, I immediately thought of the 488 because the hood shapes looked very similar to me, even though if he might have hinted at the LaF instead: Image Unavailable, Please Login Speaking of the side scoop, I'm really clueless because when I first saw the spy shots from Fiorano, I didn't notice anything. However, in PPG's sketch, there's something there (red arrow is mine): ** Image Unavailable, Please Login And that part is also highlighted in the other sketch (the one with blue lines above). PPG said he saw the car, so I think he's trying to help us with some hints.
