Gentlemen, I am in need of some assistance please. The wheels I am getting for my 348 are 8.5X18 fronts and 10X18 rears. I have pretty much decided on the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's. They told me the size I should get with these wheels is as follows:
    Front: 225x40x18
    Rear: 275X40X18
Does this sound right? What is the widest tire sizes can I get for the car?
Thanks in advance for your comments.
    Cheers, Eric

You can actuall put 295's in the back but I wouldn't go past 275 as it will be close with 295. In the front, you can put 245.

225 sounds way to thin for a 8.5 on the front....I run 225's on my 7.5" Modena wheels....245 sounds more appropriate but use a tire calculator and try to get as close to stock as possible...

as for the rear...mine are 18x10 also and I run a 275/35/18's....a 40 profile will throw your speedo off a little more then the 35....

The 255/45-17 is the stock wheel, the other 2 are compared to it

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revolutions
    255/45-17 4.5" 13.0" 26.0" 81.8" 775/mi
    275/35-18 3.8" 12.8" 25.6" 80.4" 788/mi
    275/40-18 4.3" 13.3" 26.7" 83.8" 756/mi

    I have 235- 40 - 18`s for the front and 295 - 35 - 18`s for the rear.

The 275`s look puny compared to the 295`s and should fit without any problems, lots of f-chatters on here run 295`s.

    Regards,
    Phil.

I am running 235-40/18 fronts and 295-35/18 rears on mine - had to slightly roll the front inner fender lips - rears are fine.

Here's a pic from the rear.

    Cheers

Once again Kevin your car looks great with those wheels. After seeing your wheels I went on a search for ones just like yours. I found them in a silver powder coated finish. Can't wait to get them on.
Were the tires scrapping in the front? Is that why you had to roll the inner fender lips? It looks as if your car sits lower then mine. Did you have your car lowered a bit?

Thanks everyone for all your feedback. After reviewing the posts I decided on 235x40x18 Front
275x35x18 Rear (Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's)

I'll post photos after I get the wheels.

Wow - would love to see the wheels and more importantly where did you get them?

Secondly, the car was set up as it is in that picture when I got it but had 225-40/18 fronts and only 265-35/18 rears and all tires were really old - I have actually lowered the rear just a bit since that pic was taken, but at some point I want to get the car in and have it set up properly, which may raise the front just a little... when I put the new tires on the car just the very edge of the tire would catch the inside lip when I would go up a driveway at an angle but never while running on the road, so a simple roll with the old baseball bat technique fixed it (thanks Premier!!)

And of course thanks for the compliment - we drove the car on a "Sunday drive" nearly 400 miles on Labor Day and I have been using it a lot and really enjoying it.

    Looking forward to the pix.

    Cheers
    Kevin

I got them from a place in Miami called Modular Performance Wheels. I'll have pics tomorrow night. I can't wait!

So I put the 275/35/18's on the rear and it looks as if there is to much room in the wheel well. I am in the process of exchanging them for the 295/35/18's. This size is a bit taller and wider from what I found on the Tire Rack website. I'll post pics once I get this right.

The best thing to do is put the same diameter tires on as the wheels .
