NEW YORK CITY CONCOURS - Central Park

They will not be doing the event until 2007 or 2008 due to the huge expense it took to produce the first annual show. The founder lost a lot of money due to the huge cost of renting out the rink in central park and paying for transportation for people's cars to get to his show. However I hope they do this event again and find a more affordable and better space then the concrete floors of a scating rink.

 

I went, it was great to have all those cool cars across the street from me..wild...it was a beautiful weekend but NY is really not a car town...and the promotion for the event just could not punch through all the NY action. it was lightly attened by real hard core enthusiasts and toursits..entry fee was to steep for the casual park goer and , sadly that kept out a lot of families inthe park where the younger boy really , really wanted to go!
I would love to work on organizing another one ( Hey Noah?) in Columbus circle or aol time warner center or along central parc south

 

Hey, I'd help organize something like this, but I think:
1) It would have to be a benefit for some very good cause
2) We would have to get people to get their cars there at their own expense
3) We would have to get a state official to offer up the space for free
4) We would have to get advertisers/vendors that could donate $$/product
5) Any food vendor would have to pick up fees and make it back in sales

Why don't we speak to Ferrari/Maserati and Lamborghini to hold something together, they'll bring their cars and we'll bring ours

 

This is an awesome idea David.

 

If Lamborghini is present Ferrari will not participate.

 

What if we dont tell lambo and ferrari that the other is coming? I will also help in any way needed. Let me know...I think NY city needs a concours of some sort.

Does anyone know when the one in Rock center is usually held? I think it is in the fall before the auto show....
