    Hi all
I tried searching the archives but couldn’t find anything what I was looking for. I’m a 21yo university student making the trip from Calgary, Canada to New York City on March 17th. I was wondering whether anyone could offer some insight on where to go and what to see. My self and 6 other friends are staying on the Island so sticking to Manhattan is probably a requirement. I’m interested in finding the good shopping districts, good car spotting/show rooms, and clubs/night Life (budget isn’t much of an issue). Any other suggestions that I’m overlooking? I’d greatly appreciate any direction as I know as much about New York as I do astro-physics. If you're ever up my way i'd be more then happy to fill you in.

    Thank you,
    Andrew

Andrew, you will find too much to do in NYC than you can possibly plan for! As a 21 year old with an unlimited budget (in NY terms at least $200 per night) I would suggest heading out to SoHo to baltathsar first for drinks. there you will spend roughly $12 per drink and meet a lot of really hot, snooty girls who think they will be the next super model. try to eat something there. then walk over to Merc Bar for some more drinks and people watching. by this time you will want to head to bleeker and sixth street in greenwich village and walk West! tons of great party bars there and lots of girls!!! just bar hop for a while. if all else fails, head to scores or the penthouse club for some adult entertainment. finally, have lots of cash b/c this city will eat money faster than you can down a slice of pizza at 4 in the morning.

other good party spots are turtle bay (34th and 2nd ave.), the meat packing district (seriously), the west village, and upper east side (86th and 3rd).

with regard to shopping, again go to soho and the mall in columbus circle time warner center.

for cars, there is a ferrari dealer on 55th and park and a cool exotic model car store at 280 park ave (48th st and park next to starbucks). also check out the classic car club http://manhattan.classiccarclub.com/

with six guys you need to take taxi's everywhere to have fun. don't bother with subways b/c you will not save money and you won't see the city (no more than 4 per cab though)

it is a great place to party but probably not such a great place to see many f-cars. have fun!

    very well said...

As far as car dealerships...270 11th Avenue (34th street or so) there is a Lamborghini/Bentley/Porsche Dealership with a beautiful showroom....[Manhattan MotorCars]

Hey thanks for the info guys, it’s greatly appreciated. I’ve been working my ass off and saving for this trip so I want to make it the best 3 days that I can. I figure stuck up “princesses” and over priced drinks are just one more story to tell when I get home, as long as I don’t get too caught up in image (or the girls).

    Thank you,

    andrew
