Hello everyone. I am new to the ferrari world and just bought a 430. I have been on the corvette forum for a while. Still own a 2009 z06. I have been bitten by the bug to modify vettes and squezze out pony after pony and bolting on carbin fiber and dress up goodies like its going out of style. Will I have that same problem with the 430? Im already looking into pipes. lol . well I have lots to read and lots to think about. I have a spider and if anyone has recomendation on exhaust that has little or no drone and sounds spectacular please chime in and let me know. I take delivery next week. I will post a pic. glad to have a forum for a little support.

    Have a great night.

Let me be the first to say CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to f-chat! We all love photos so post them when you get the car! As far as the exhaust goes, I prefer standard (I"m a purist) but the most popular aftermarket options are: Tubi, Capristo, and Kresseig exhaust systems.

    Best,

Leave your 430 exhaust alone. Now 90% here will disagree with me, and that's okay.

    Welcome :)

    welcome!
somewhat surprised that you pulled the trigger on the car BEFORE getting on this site and asking for advice....but there's nothing like getting straight into it without hesitation ! :)

i would advise living with the 430 as-is for a while and then figuring out what you want to change.

I agree, don't even think about changing anything till you have it and drive it for a while.

Defeating the valves is a fun option. I did that on mine, put on chrome tips, and LOVE it!

The car is great the way it comes. That is the big benefit over vettes, etc IMO. No changes necessary.

Thanks for your opinions. I like the idea of disconnecting the vac lines. Are they easy accessible? Is the drone unbearable? I know on the vettes they sell a mild to wild remote switch to control the valves on the exhaust but it is done by killing power to the circuit that powers the vacuum controller. from what I have read so far I don't think it can be done that way on a f430 or can it? Well Im supposed to get my car next week and everyday seems like an eternity. Can't wait to fufill a dream that originated in me many years ago.

    Thanks for reading

Yes, Capristo makes a black box + wireless remote control that can force the flaps open all of the time, or let the ECU control them. Its well worth the $6xx.00 USD IMO and installs in a flash especially if you have a snake-camera so you can see the lower valve wiring harness without bumper removal. I have and use the system every time I drive the car. In my neighborhood I am as quiet as a mouse, on long fast drives where I want to talk to my lovely lady, I just press the button and its as quiet as a Camery, but mostly I kick it OPEN and make enjoy the music!
