    Hello:

I am seriously considering a 348 and am wondering how/where can one find what a "fair" price is?

I am familiar with eBay, cars.com, etc.

Are the 348s starting to or likely to appreciate like the 328s did?

I have been casually watching, never really serious, but I can NOT believe that they were low $30s just a year ago as Hagerty indicates. Most of the really nice ones people are asking $50-70K on the afore mentioned markets.

    Like 328s? Maybe not.
    Appreciating? Definitely yes.

Definitely yes. There is an 89 one owner, part of collection at the dealership here in Norwood. May have sold? It was going for $89K with more miles than mine, around 15K, and loose shift knob set nut ;) It has the narrow track rear wheels so that should be addressed. No major afaik. Mine has the major, new paint, lots of work done, new OZ wheels and Bridgestone Pole Position tires. Lowered, new intake pipes and a front and rear spoiler in progress right now. I wouldn't take lass than 90 for mine and some big talkers have said they would pay it. She's not for sale.

Fair price is whatever the two dealing parties can agree upon.

Currently, with the glut of 348s on the market over the past couple months, those two points are oddly relatively far apart. Current high bids maintain at levels consistent with historic sales, while asks have gone way up, with most from dealers that have picked up the cars at market price in prev months, tacking on the requisite $10-20k as had been seen with other formerly frothy marques/models, but the cars just sit as a result.

Interesting to see how that shakes out, since I'm in the market. Good luck in your search.

Yes, take $5G off for a loose set nut.

is there an expert/knowledgable person/organization that track this?

I found a spectacular red/tan but I feel they are a little high.

The only non-starter is black interior for me... I won't buy a car with black interior...

I picked up a 38k mile 1990 348 in April/2015 on the high end (48k). My suggestion would be to make sure you have cash in reserve (not including what you pay for the car) to handle the "running costs". I've really enjoyed the car but as my research indicated, it's expensive to own one of these cars. Good luck in your quest. Brian

I'm sorry, I have to call shenanigan's on this... the 348 being worth more than the F355. Seriously.... I doubt it. I might add, I don't know where they get their values, but I have never seen them as cheap as Haggerty claims in the condition they describe when it comes the the F355.

Haggerty is WAY behind the curve so trust what you find with your own two eyes. 348's are fine cars and are appreciating. I'd buy a spider since there are only 1000 in the world...

Hopefully this isn't another 355/348 comparison thread. ;)

Also, you're referencing Haggerty's average value which is not a good indicator at all (apparently lots of beater cars selling for less).

My first Ferrari was 348 , great car and miss it . It's easy to work on and if you do your own work then it's not so expensive to own. Lots of cross over parts which cuts costs. Excellent help from Fchat community

Don't be scared of the higher mileage ones.

I recently bought a 348ts from a Ferrari dealer. 35k miles, engine-out service 2k ago, new tires, a condition one car, looks brand new...for $39K. Deals are out there. Ebay is about the worst place to buy these cars. Check Ferrari dealers, they don't sell junk cars. In my case it was a trade in and they just wanted to get rid of it since they want their sales focus on the $200k+ cars.
