The space in the front of most Ferraris is pretty much taken up by the
spare tire. There's very little storage space up there unless you leave
the tire at home - of course, I can only speak from personal experience
with my own 328. The rear storage isn't too bad - but I think golf clubs
might be pushing it... but no problems with small luggage for a weekend trip.

Ferraris aren't rear engined.

The compartment in the front is called a frunk.

 

There is no spare tire for a 458, so on that model the front trunk is a deep open square storage area where the toolkit and fix-a-flat kit are strapped to the sides.

In the older mid-engine Ferraris, there was a second trunk behind the engine, e.g. the 328's and 308's.
On modern mid-engine Ferraris, that is now where the exhaust system is and the only storage is in the front trunk or in the small area behind the seats.

There is no spare tire in the 348/355/360/430/458 mid engined cars.

 

Go and look at an old VW Beetle it's the same exept most Fcars don't have a spare wheel just a can of very expensive F badged fix a flat goop.

There is a small amount of space inside the spare tire/wheel in the front of a 308/328. This space is the perfect temperature to melt everything in the small travel bag that you might think to put there.

 

I do know that there was an option to get a spare tire on the Scuderia and probably any 430.???

This is a picture under the front lid of my 1987 Mondial. Mostly filled up. There is a bit of space in front of the tire where I'm storing the grill from a VW Jetta. Everything is exposed and visible under the hood. On other models and newer cars the bits are much more covered up and there can be a carpeted cubby for luggage.

On the Mondial t the rear seats can be folded down so you can use the space to carry luggage.
There's even a couple of built-in straps to secure items, your set of golf clubs maybe.

The release buttons are hidden behind the trim to the sides of the rear headrests, and you'd never know they were there unless you read the manual. It doesn't look like this facility has ever been used on my car.
