Hi everyone. I picked up a low mileage 812 over the weekend and put a 1000 mi on the car. Shortly after beginning my trip and hitting the interstate I noticed a very prominent rattle / buzzing from the rear of the car that increased with speed, acceleration and wind sheer. I called the dealership and they suspected it was from the carbon fiber divider in the back compartment area. I took it out and went through a series of additional trouble shooting steps when that didnt work(removed tools from under rear carpet tool box area, removed temporary dealership license plate cover and screws, tightened a screw under the rear carpet), all to no avail. Any ideas or suggestions? I saw a YouTube video where one guy tightened the rear hatch locking mechanism to fix a similar problem. Hoping it is not simply the wind flowing through/ over the carbon fiber lower aspect of the hatch below the glass as I am not sure how that could be fixed...

Did you try reaching back and pushing on the bulkhead behind you (or have a passenger push on it), it sounds like something in the cabin, except, increasing with speed 'sounds like' it would emanate from something on the outside of the car. Was the rear-window recall performed? If not, have it completed and see if that helps. Otherwise, put the car on a lift or up some and ensure all the underside bolts are tight especially on the diffuser.

Do you know if the rear windscreen was fixed as part of the recall? Maybe something is giving around the seals

    Found it!
Not sure what to call this plastic piece on the side of the hatch but the drivers side is lose. When I taped it down the noise was gone.

    Amazing great find.

I have a high pitched buzz from my seatbelt (don’t know the technical term) swivel bit where it attaches to the car.

Push it (hand behind head driving not ideal seating position!) and it’s stops.

It’s like a small bee just in your right ear. Have to figure out how to take that to bits and pad inside or something.

Issue is I wouldn’t know where to start haha.

I also have a rear rattle - hadn’t tried looking where you are - will do as soon as back from holiday.

Taking this "new" car in. Maybe they will do something like that...
