    I do not normally promote car shows but this event can be fun. If you are in southeastern New England and have nothing to do the weekend of May 30-31st check out the Newport Concours @ www.newportconcours.org. The concours event on Sunday will be staged at Fort Adams, and although the number of cars may be smaller than last year, I understand the quality will be better. There is also the possibility that the "woodie" association in New England will be gathering nearby too. Great vistas, great cars, what could be better.

    Hosted by the city of the famed Ballevue Ave residents that dislike car groups????????? Kidding, but you did Q yourself up for that one. Great to see you spreading the word on a very unique event.... ....Hope to see you there! Will you be attending.... maybe we can pull a group together that morning? Just a thought.... again thanks for spreading the word... the better the turn out the better later events will be IMO.

    i dunno, i am a car guy, but cars with wagon wheels and people in blue blazers, khaki's, and wide brimmed hats doesnt sound that interesting to me.

    I prefer new myself, but will attend almost any solid car event..... if withen distance, this one happend to be in my back yard so plan to attend. Will be many newer nice cars in the city that week end as well...

    ha, maybe it's all self-hate. i am the product of a reasonably snooty new england prep school right here in the ocean state. and i have the blue blazer/khaki pants at the ready.

    i think i've been watching too much dennis gage.



    so i guess i'll see you guys there....maybe.

    Yeah--tend to only be interested in stuff built after 1964. Does this event/show tend to revolve around "antique-y" cars??? I was hoping to go check it out, but if it's a glut of pre-war stuff, I'll do something else.

    Yes, almost nothing in modern cars except for a few spectators and the Iconic display.

    Just to correct myself. Ferrari New England is now a sponsor therefore there will be some modern cars there.

    Naturally, I did not bring my camera, but I have to commend the organizers on a very nice show. Beautiful location. A very broad range of cars from modern to brass, around 100 I think. I spent so much time talking with friends that I did not get around in detail. Off the top of my head in our portion of the field were a Mondial, 2 330 GTC's, a lusso, a '74 246 gts, a beautiful one-off Maserati, a 275 gts, a 275 gtb, a 250 series II cabriolet, and what I believe may have been a 400 Superamerica. Bag pipers wandered around playing variuos tunes, good food, a fnatastic 1915 LaFrance that sounded great when started, a bunch of models in period costumes being photgraphed, lots going on. I was especialy intrigued, while having lunch with friends, watching the owner of a steam powered car work up a head of steam to move the car around for photos. I hope someone took pictures.
