It has had a troubled history but some recent changes may have it on the right track. I will be there on Monday @ Belle Mer on Goat Island for the concours and encourage all to give it a shot. They focus on cars from brass era to 1970 and are especially looking for exotics from the 50's & 60's. Cars older than that, unless they feel they are unique, will be lined up along the sides, but also for public view too. If weather is good, can't beat the venue...and it's near enough to town to shop!

I found info from Newport Concours that for Monday only, Non-concours entry is $25 per car and $20 per guest. The Judged entry is $50 per car and $35 per guest but that includes meals. I had emailed them for info. Thats you best bet for the whole schedule.

If the weather-dudes are accurate, it's going to be sunny and 80 there. We'll be there with 3 of our toys... our F430 spider, Gallardo Spyder and Audi R8. Please stop by if you're there and say hello.

    Best,

    John

yes sir,and thanks to ray for a great tip !!
it was a fantastic show, one of best i've seen.the quality and rarity of the cars [and motorcycles] was exceptional.
not very strong on italian marques, but beautiful jags,mg's,some fabulous vintage race cars and the most perfect vincent black shadow i've seen.
also, many wonderful examples from the "golden age" and some newer supercars on the outer lawn.
the weather and setting was perfect and the size was just right for a few hors of relaxed viewing...all they need is a hot dog and beer stand !
will try to post pics when i can...

It was a good show. I can't say much about the cars as I was working indoors the whole day. I never really got a chance to look at the cars closely. As for modern F cars, two Maranello's showed up. One in a beautiful blue color.

Thanks for having us Ray, it was a great show. Sorry we didn't get a chance to catch up with you before we left, but we saw Betsy and some of the great watches you brought. As for F cars, there was a beautiful light metalic blue 275GTS, a red 250GTE 2+2, a 330GT 2+2 (twin headlamp version), a 365GTC/4 and two more modern cars that I was surprised were "in the show" an '84 308QV and an '88 328GTS. In the display area were 2 550s and a late seventies carbed GTS, a Ford GT and a Gallardo. As for other cars at the show a few E Type Jags, a '61 AM DB4, some Shelby Mustangs, some MGs, a 356 Porsche, a few older Bentelys and some vintage motorcycles. I have probably left out quite a few other vehicles that escape me at the moment. If I have time I'll try to post some pix later.

    Best regards,
    Dino
