I am going. Long drive from Portland Me but I missed the Foxwoods event, gotta make this one. If I keep waiting for meets closer to me I'll never drive the cars.

    it's 5/23/10.

here's the description of the SCRT event, although it's limited to 25 cars i think:

Confirmed members will be meeting for lunch at a wonderful waterfront resort. Following lunch, we will take a mapped out leisurely cruise which will bring us down some of the city's famous streets; Bellevue Avenue, Ocean Drive and America's Cup Ave!....mansion lined with rich history and incredible coastal views.

The cruise will continue to Fort Adams, one of Newport's most treasured historic sites and the second largest bastioned fort in America! This is where we will make a special appearance at the Newport Concours D'Elegance (www.newportconcours.org). We will view some amazing automobile heritage and be part of the concours! It will be an unbelievable contrast between vintage and new. During the award ceremony, SupercarRoadTrips will present our group donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Newport (www.bgcnewport.org).

After the Concours event, we will conclude with a ride to one of the highest rated hotels in the world for a farewell toast!

and Joey beat me too it.

    5/22 - Newport Concourse
    5/23 - SCRT, Newport Concourse

I don't know if I'm going. We were thinking about the Concourse. Either way I'll probably attend something.

And just to clarify Joey, 25 "Exotics", not cars.

It looks like some Ferrari guys are stepping up to the plate. I'm glad to see Robert get back out with the SLR. I really need to stop by and visit him this week.

19 of 25 spots filled as well.

Just to clarify further. 5/23 is the actual day of the show. 5/22 is events for the entrants of the Concours although I believe they will be selling tickets for the black tie dinner that night. (worth going to in my opinion) I'll be working at the show.

Will they be posting anything official on FChat that goes over the itinerary to dispel any further misconceptions? I was under the impression that the event began on Saturday.

Another step would be how the SCRT group will be involved. Will they be judged in the event accordingly or are they just driving in? The times don't mesh right.

I will do my best to share what I know....

It is a week end event for those involved in the Concours but to the public the main event will be held on Sunday May 23rd and hosted at Fort Adams.... at the Fort itself NOT above area like the year prior. (much better location) Tickets are 20$ each and can be bought at the door or prior, live website I believe to be launched soon...... the organizers of this event seem eager to put on a world class event.... and heard they have some very exciting things happening that day; cars rarely seen old and new! Also there will be plenty of general public parking in the area but also -Special- parking for "special interest cars". In this area they maybe picking one special car to possibly recognize just to add some flare to that parking area.... This has not been confirmed but heard it maybe in the works about picking a car... the special parking is a GO. This special parking area will have some great cars and believe will be worth the walk through just for fun.... Almost a side show to the main event itself. Last year a similar area was riddled with Porsches, F cars, AM, Mas, old and new as well as some cool American muscle....This -Special- designated parking will be on the lawn area over looking the water with Views on the Newport bridge...and away from the general public etc...Someone will be by that entry area blocked off allowing access.

What I heard is that the SCRT group will be attending the event with 25 Auto's.... arriving after 1pm ish after their scheduled lunch that day....these 25 cars will reflect evolution from where cars came from (main entrants into the concours level cars...) to where the car world is today regards to advancements in technology etc..... IMO very cool and great concept and just one of many interesting things that will be rolled out at the show from what I have heard.... Some Concours show organizers are less open to such technological advancements held in today's automobiles but not the Newport Show. This show will have Concours level autos that are truly amazing and will rival nearly any tier one Concours event around the world with a splash of some modern era autos......if you can make one event this year I highly suggest this event. In the past they have always been top notch providing great food, vendors and autos most importantly as well as fashion + just good people.

hope that helps.... temp site up now and new one I believe coming soon.... May 23rd Mark your calendar. I believe Doors open at 10am but could be off a bit and open all day to 5pm ish.... http://www.newportconcours.org/

Best places: The Chanler or the Inn at Castle Hill

    next step down: Hotel Viking

Then there are the usual suspects, Marriott, Hyatt, etc.

Marriott and Hyatt have garages, Castle Hill and Chanler are outdoor lots but very secure.

My reccomendation is the hyatt to be close to the event and have wonderful high quality service if you don't want to be quite as close and want a lower price range I'd try the marriot springhill suites in east greenwich rhode island but the hyatt has a garage if your bringing a fancy automobile.
