Anybody else read the Newsday article today about the ROE? "Get together a bunch of guys who have spent too much money on cars they generally don't drive much and watch them give themselves prizes"- What moron wrote this?, and I can't help but wonder what he or she might be driving these days..... Yes, I did read the article. It could outrage some but I just laugh at it. I know that does not fit me. I will hit 15,000 miles tomorrow and this was only in a year.
The woman who I assume is the author interviewed me. I emphasized the friendly nature of the get together, and how down to Earth most members are. Also talked up the charity component. I said nothing resembling what she wrote. Newspaper's function is not to inform, it's to sell newspapers.
That little blurb speaks of jealousy and bitterness and nothing else. There is nothing about a car show, coucourse, get-together, or the like that should elicit such a spiteful write-up, and it sucks that she wrote it. Who is she to decide whether we spend "too much" on our cars? B****.
Newsday SUCKS. She is probably pissed off that we are burning to much of the Earths precious resources for a pleasure drive.
