Just felt like a little rant was in order due to the ridiculous coverage F1 gets in the news today. LA Times never has F1 news except a few sentence blurb filled with mistakes and almost never shows a box score that's complete, if there at all. Today, they had a story on the front page of the sports section basically talking about things we've know for weeks if not months, nothing real recent and again filled with mistakes and poor reporting. I turn to my local Santa Barbara paper and they've got two short stories of Jacques Villenueve wanting to get back into F1 and another topic, these stories up to date news. Routinely my small local paper has reasonably good writeups on F1 results including qualifying and occassional other F1 stories as well, LA Times virtually nothing.

I've got to think there are plenty of fans in the US to support reporting on F1. It's got to be at least as popular as IRL and LPGA events which the Times addresses more in their reporting. Why isn't there more coverage? Do others have this limited or non-existent coverage in their local papers? Pretty crazy when I've got to go to my little local paper for print news on F1 versus a widely circulated paper like LATimes. I don't expect daily coverage but once a week would be nice. Lot's to write about these days in F1, be nice to read that news rather than the crap usually in there.

I wonder if USF1 is behind this? Doesn't it seem weird that it was also in the Wall Street Journal (there's a thread on here about that). Perhaps part of the pr team??
