    Hi

For my next project on my 87 328, I am removing the intake plenum & the intake runners (manifolds).

I will be cleaning intake valley, removing and installing new injectors and bushings, and cleaning and refinishing the plenum.

I purchased new injectors off ebay and those white PTFE bushings from the German guy.

1 - Because of all the crazy amount of gum, mud, oil and grease in the intake valley, I can't really tell if I have to drain the coolant. Can't tell if the main hose from the thermostat housing and the other hose leading into the overflow container connect to the intake, or it's own system under the intake.

2 - What should I do to all the fuel hoses? Should I bother taking them off the fuel distributor and run a small wire through to clean the inside?

    Regards

Please don't throw your old steel injectors away. They can be ultrasonically cleaned and kept as back ups. Even though the brass versions are touted to be direct replacements for the original steel ones they are different. In particular, the opening pressure and more importantly, spray pattern is different. PM me separately if you are interested in getting your original injectors ultrasonically cleaned and tested.
