My son and I have a disagreement. I say on a small NASCAR track, like Martinsville, an Enzo with its better handling will be 'in the ballpark' as fast as a Cup car, but on a large track like Indy or Michigan the Cup car will just have too much HP for the Enzo to keep up.

So the real question is: On a Cup car set up for the appropriate track, will an Enzo be competative? Would a smaller or larger track give it any advantage? I have a healthy respect for purpose built race cars even if they are primative, and heavy, compared to the Enzo....

My money is on the cup car--No matter what track--Those cars are set up for each particular track--I don't think the Enzo would have a chance. More goes into suspension setup then horsepower for the small tracks.

And that says it all. The Enzo is just a cr@ppy road car that is an exercise in compromise.

What a waste of carbon fibre, etc. Ferrari, if you really want to build another GT race car ... come on, do it! and stop with these stupid supercar road car rubbish things.

dont they run restrictor plates on the small tracks to keep the speed down?

    hmm... guess not

"Restrictor plates were implemented in 1988 following Bobby Allison's crash into a retaining fence at 210 mph (338 kph), which endangered hundreds of fans. Also in 1987, Bill Elliott set the track record by running a lap around the track at 213 mph (343 kph). Some believe that if restrictor plates weren't used, NASCAR cars could race on super-speedways at speeds in excess of 225 mph (362 kph) due to the improved aerodynamics of the cars over the past decade."

Might make for an interesting video with the Big E-Enzo duking it out with the Little E-Earnhardt; however, it definitely wouldn't top the one out there showing a Lambo doing laps on a dirt track. Git-r-done...
