VERY doubtful. If you have read ANY history on Favre you will know it's all about HIM, me me me me me. When HIS WR's were underpaid and held out 10 years ago, Brett said NOTHING to support them. When some of his teammates got into trouble with the law, he was NOWHERE to help support them. When some were hurt, he was nowhere to be found. There are some pretty long stories about how self-centered he is, the more you read, the more of a SCHMUCK he really is. He only came back this year because they raised the stakes ($$$).
My wife emailed a Dallas fan friend before the game: Looks like today you will be able to root for an NFL team playing in Dallas that actually has a chance of winning.
I'd ALMOST bet they make the playoffs next season. The only thing that makes me hesitate on that is Philly and NYG are equally as loaded.
Good time to be a football fan. LOTS of good teams out there right now... hopefully they sort out the issues with the players union.
there's always NEXT year. Unless there is a strike or lockout. Dallas is not America's Team. If there is such a thing that would be Green Bay IMVHO. Anybody can buy stock in the team. The city of Green Bay is really the owner not some wealthy billionaire. When they win against the big money, big media market teams, it really is David defeating Goliath. Wiki: The Packers are the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team in the United States. I am not normally a GB fan but was rooting for them against Pittsburg.
http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/jet_set_party_mom_aCxVsCzSVKGThZYAhfNPTN If this is true I wouldn't be at all surprised to see charges brought against Sanchez and/or a penalty from the NFL. How stupid are you to have millions of dollars and the entire world at your fingertips, [i[all you have to do is not f^&% an underage girl[/i]. I don't get these guys.
Stupid....absolutely. But, she was in a club that is 18+ so wouldn't it be his assumption that she was 18? I think this whole thing is blown a little out of proportion. A lady called in to the local sports show and said 17 year old girls know just what they're doing and this girl was no different. Just look at her, she doesn't look stupid.
I just looked up the age of consent in New York is 17. Nothing criminal apparently. (Still creepy that guy out of college is banging a high school girl though).
sounds like the mom condones the behavior.... anyway, a hot 17 year old throws herself at you and you're going to be thinking with reason and logic?
That's why I say a lot of these guys are idiots. When it comes down to it, they simply reflect society. That said, the problem I have with Sanchez is these guys NEVER seem to learn from their cohorts' well-publicized issues (ie: Roethliesberger, Pacman), so they ARE stupid in that sense. Mark should have stuck around USC his last two years and hosed all the chicks there, nobody would have thought anything of it.
Could you imagine the amount of p**** a guy like Sanchez could pull down at USC? It just makes the head spin....
Q: What does Mark Sanchez have in common w/ Ben Roethlisberger? A: Both Mark & Ben have been accused of sexual-assault of a drunk (but under legal drinking-age) coed. Q: What does Mark Sanchez not have in common w/ Ben Roethlisberger? A: Mark has been arrested for sexual-assault whereas Ben never has been arrested for sexual assault. Q: What's the difference between Mark Sanchez's alleged coed victim & Ben Roethlisberger's alleged coed victim? A: Mark's alleged coed victim accused him of rape whereas Ben's alleged coed victim never accused him of rape. I often took the high'road when Big Ben was being assailed by legions of Jets fans (and fans who were of Latin-ethnic backgrounds [mostly female] who dubbed Mark Sanchez the "Mexican Ken (doll)" & whereas for Big Ben as "Rapistberger", but I'd privately bring up how supposed golden-boy Mark Sanchez allegedly raped a girl @ 'SC, then got arrested but was never prosecuted due to it being a "he-said/she-said" incident. Reference: Why No One Remembers The Mark Sanchez Rape Case Whiskey, I like your succinct way of putting it that these athletes are merely microcosms of the greater populace, namely our society at-large.
They are, but as their income gets larger, they become more noticeable. Anyone can drive a red Hyundai Tiburon, but it's the red Ferrari that gets noticed. Some owners like that, some don't, too bad, it comes with the territory.
