That's exactly right. Like fail to convert on 3rd and short twice, as well as settle for a FG (1st half) when starting 1st and goal from the 3 yard line. Like NE, FGs aren't going to beat Rogers, TDs will.
O'Brien's ass has to be on fire because he's been getting pounded since the game yesterday. The biggest glaring WTF comment post game: "It's not my job to call a time out to help the refs out".
What a crazy game in Miami! Two weather delays (not surprising for Miami in the summer) led to a 7-hour game that began at 1 PM but ended after all of the 4 PM games! And after scoring a combined 13 points in the first 3 quarters, the teams combined for 34 points in the 4th quarter, including two kickoff returns for scores. Wild stuff!
As Bill Belichick always says, "Players win games and coaches lose them". Not that Houston would have won anyway, but I was surprised at the mistakes O'Brien made. He's not a dumb coach, he's no Dirk Koetter.
When I heard that I almost choked. That comment was dumber than the decision to not call a TO. The other dumb comment was "we had 3 TOs and it's not my job to use them for the referees" The issues I have with that are: 1) that's what timeouts are for, to use for critical in game situations 2) what are you going to do with 3 timeouts at the half, donate them to charity? You're going to lose them regardless.
The Raiders have 5 minutes of glory! Too bad they play an entire hour. I'm guess Gruden's next team meeting isn't going to be too pleasant. I wonder if the "modern" Pro Football multimillionaire will take well to his 12 year old "motivation" tactics.
Oh poopy, indeed. All seven of the new coaches lost their first game. This includes Gruden, who isn't exactly new . . . but, he lost.
To be honest that Raiders game was pitiful. Yes, it was not a blow out as much as the score shows. But the team just fell apart and played poorly in the 2nd half. They snatched defeat from the jaws of victory -- at home
I am wearing one of my Lions shirts this morning. Its tough to be a Lion fan but i fon't hide like so many do. Agreed, they were not as bad as the Lions but they definitely had a bad game.
The medía is dumping on Gruden today from every direction. The $100 million man is going to get no honeymoon! https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/jon-grudens-disastrous-raiders-return-raises-more-questions-than-answers-about-rebuild/
And last night the media was saying what a good coaching job he was doing during the first half. The media stinks.
Sorry Lotaz. Get 'em next week. I still think NFC Central is going to be very competitive amongst all 4 squads and will come down to Xmas week games.
Honestly, I'm kinda lost on the Koetter thing. I didn't pay attention to TB at all besides the score. He corrected himself before he even let the media ask questions on Monday's press conference. But he didn't really help his case at all. In reference, a discussion on the radio. I think you'll really really enjoy it. Lol See the title https://sportsradio610.radio.com/media/audio-channel/3t-does-obrien-know-nfl-rulebook Oh, and if you were ever a Jim Rome Smack-Off fan, Sean, one of the hosts, is the Cabalinasian. I was going to expand, but if you recognize that name there's no need to. And check out this segment too. https://sportsradio610.radio.com/media/audio-channel/3t-two-segments-texans-patriots-reaction-9-10-18
I do really want to question the fact that a play is supposed to be reviewed by people in New York as well, however, the next play can happen before an official response is heard. Am I just confused or something? But that's stupid.
It just adds fuel to the Patriots conspiracy. We could see that it wasn't a catch, so what the hell were they waiting for to buzz down to the on field officials? It was a deep pass - not a short one where NE can hurry up and run a play. That took time for the teams to run down the field and line up; ample opportunity for New York to stop the game and look at it.
