I can't imagine that Pats don't have rules for TB12 vs. other folks. I suspect that goes on a lot in the NFL, and it works as long as the team is winning, but once adversity hits, you see who the real team players and team leaders are. By that test, the Steelers are failing miserably...T

I just learned something, the NFL determines a players position not the team. So clowney getting a linebacker pay vs D-end pay isn't a team decision. Apparently clowney played 2/3rds of snaps as D-end.

You mean for the purposes of determining their franchise tag value?

Pretty much. They just read on air how the NFL determines it (based on their own definition) which is what position they played the prior season the most and clasifying JD as a linebacker instead a D-end contradicts that. They've said he played as a D-end 66% of the time.

I always assumed the teams choose. Good to know it's not a team decision.

TB12 delivered 6 SBs and owns Ben and the Steelers

TB12 doesn’t call out his players in the media; on the contrary he praises each and everyone of them

TV12 doesn’t say “I wish I could have thrown it to ______ on all 4 downs“

TB12 doesn’t blame his receivers when he throws an INT; on the contrary he holds himself accountable

TB12 gets it done with a fraction of the talent that Ben has; Ben can’t get it done with all the talent in the world

TB12 is a leader, Ben is not

I think you get the picture :)

No, that's not the case, Mike is right. Over the years there have been stories of how rookies are stunned that in a meeting Belichick will call out and dress down Brady. They say it really has a sobering effect because if he can be called out, nobody is immune. And while I'm sure Brady doesn't love being called out, he holds himself as accountable as anyone else on the team.

I have to say the nonsense you see going on in the Steelers organization you would just not see on the Pats. Brown would have been gone 2 years ago when he was streaming himself live instead of attending a meeting by the coach. I remember when Chandler Jones showed up half naked behind a police station before a playoff game. I thought he's history, and sure enough Belichick got rid of him. He's a great player and I hated losing him, but if you're not a team player, you're not a Patriot player. Same thing with Jamie Collins, a great player Belichick just literally gave away to Cleveland. Same thing with Richard Seymour, gone. I admire Belichick for setting a standard and living by it.

Wonder if Foles to JAX is the missing piece. Their defense is solid.

Can’t be worse than Bortles. Or another Keenum?

I don't know. He's certainly better than Bortles, but Bortles wasn't the reason for last year's complete collapse.

Either he's going to be better than Bortles, or he's going to fall flat. I think Foles is a Keenum situation, works in the past situation, but not the new situation.

Let's not forget as well, the Jags defense was giving Bortles a run for the who's to blame crown last year.

Reminds me of Keenum situation as I mentioned earlier.

Many said the same about Trevor Siemian.

The Jags need to score first and build a lead as they did frequently in 2017 for their defense to shine. Big step back with their Pro Bowl cornerbacks in 2018, Ramsey and Bouye looked lost when my Boys dropped 40 on them pre-Cooper.

Ace beat me to it! Agree with Paul as well. The Jags were a young team that was a hot pick to break through. After about week 4 or so, they got smacked in the puss, and proceeded to fold and bicker. If they learned anything from that experience, they could rebound.

My big worry would be, who is he gonna throw the ball to? Jags WRs are nothing to write home about. Eagles have two tight ends better than anyone on Jags. Fournette doesn't rebound, and we got ourselves a recipe for a soap opera.

    Totally agree on both counts.

The speculation was a pro golfer that lives in the Jupiter area, a person known for this type of meandering...

    YET.

He has 6 bill in the bank?
Or would he have 6 bill if he sold the team?
It's kinda moot because he has more in the bank than all of us, but still.

This is a good question - who IS the biggest name in the NFL right now?
If you go to some small town in the middle of nowhere or you go to Europe
and poll people on the street, who would they name?

O.J.? (and I am not kidding)

30? Hardly, 23 years is not close to 30..

    Are you sure he 'finished'?

The pill gets it hard, it doesn't make it finish. This I know for fact. ;)

I am not so sure his TD rate is THAT good, his last 4 seasons - 5-3-3-5, while he may be getting open, they are not throwing to him,
and, others were thinking the same thing regarding Wentz... so was I.

They never REALLY USE the guys they have, so we will never know.
For whatever reason there are some teams in the NFL that just don't use their TE, ever.
Arizona for one, Detroit, GB barely used Jimmy Graham, Miami, Buffalo, Jacksonville, Denver...

    I agree.

Nah, it's how much you play in a position.
Remember when Gronk wanted more money because he lined up in the slot (WR money) more than
he did ON the line at TE a couple of years ago?

Their defense was in shambles last season, NOTHING like it was the year before.
I think the DC left after 2017, could that be it?

So supposedly Kyler Murray's interviews went terribly. Or is someone stirring the pot?

Some team is using Casserly as a stooge so that Murray falls a little further down the draft.

Yes, apparently, we need one in the player division, and one in the owner division!

I did notice that Randy Gregory (Cowboys) has been suspended again. What a shame.

Yeah, I agree with both Paul & Dave. There does not seem to be much intrigue @ this combine, so they need to generate some clicks and views.
Does anyone know what position Murray plays in baseball?

Interesting. Giants fomenting discord so they can pick Murray instead of Haskins;)

Still think Arizona should take Bosa. Rosen wasn't exactly surrounded with an adequate supporting cast to showcase his arm. Still wouldn't be surprised if Kingsbury takes Murray and trades Rosen to Miami.
