Discussed this a few years ago. Cam Newton is a linebacker sized QB, and eventually all the contact wore evenhim down and led to injury. Jackson is not Cam-sized. I think eventually LJ needs to morph into more of a pocket passer. But I think he had the arm strength and accuracy to pull it off. Better WRs wouldn't hurt...T
Definitely high IQ for Mahomes. That crazy underhanded pass to Kelce last week was a thing of beauty. Yummy. I love me some lap cheong! You are the host with the most! T
If you get bored Tom, Houston radio is pretty interesting now. Listened to 610 yesterday longer than I have since last year. It still annoys me there are people that don't want to blame Bob McNair for any of the current problems.
I'm pretty sure he will play. Oh horse puckey. The list of CEO's that can be 'blamed' for stuff is endless, we ALL have worked for people that suck, most of us have no choice but to look past it. Bob McNair hit the nail on the head when he made the comment about inmates running the asylum, I suppose he could have been 'politically correct' and said nothing, but most people agreed with what he said - he's the owner and the employees are dictating terms? I don't think so. Yeah, it cost him, and apparently his son is doing no better, but Deshawn Watson is a clown, *HE* can call some shots, whine, maybe be heard somewhat, but where does that leave the rest of the TEAM? He doesn't give a crap about everyone else on the TEAM that do not have the 'pull' that he does, nor have they made the $$$ he has - he can afford to pull this crap, to the peril of everyone else. Such is the life of a 'star' athlete....
Antonio Brown is doubtful for the game, making it more enticing to lean towards KC. However, I think I am sticking to my guns and will end up taking Brady and the Bucs. Will confirm closer to game time.
Bob should have fired O'Brien while he was still alive. I don't really care about the other stuff, but when a team runs things as awfully and for as long, and do every single thing against the fans I have no reason but to want to see Watson go to a team that's not run as terribly as the Texans have always been run. It's an extremely toxic work environment and I don't think any of the players should have taken the field after the way Hopkins was discarded.
LOL! Anyway, the whole Brady thing is probably giving it a lot more hype than normal . . . . if anything can be considered normal now.
Guess what? Houston isn't the only team, and other teams discard star players, too. You may disagree, but NE dumped Brady, and Detroit dumped Stafford, and the Rams said crappy things about Goff - after giving him a huge contract - and then sent him to Siberia - where good players go to die (or get traded AGAIN). Philly isn't treating Wentz too well, lotsa teams treat players bad, but I may agree with you in that Houston is the worst, it appears.
Horrible personnel decisions. No first round pick for Hopkins to Cards. Within hours, Vikes got 1st round for Diggs from Bills. Was 2 years too late in signing a left tackle. Watson rookie year 19 sacks in 7 games and torn ACL. 62 sacks in 2018 most in league. Way to protect your franchise player. Only got 3rd rounder for Clowney. Gave up 2nd rounder for Cooks which is exactly what they got from Cards for Hopkins.
The difference is Goff is underperforming, Stafford wants out, Wentz is underperforming and has a crappy attitude and is a horrible teammate, while Watson is none of those.
Comparing Watson to Brady/Stafford/Goff is apples to grapefruit. Watson should be compared to Mahomes/Wilson/Jackson and I don't see KC/SEA/BAL trying to dump those QB's or them trying to force their way out. Watson is 25 years-old in his prime and just had his best statistical season. He is not a cancer to his team. Coaches/teammates/opposing players have nothing but good things to say about him. He has been a role model in the community and handled himself with class on and off the field. After losing Hopkins /having no respectable input in Canserio hiring/didn't get his choice Bienemy for HC etc who can blame him for wanting a fresh start? Pretty sad that he'd rather go to NYJ or Fins and shows how dysfunctional the Texans organization is.
We'd love to have Watson, but we just don't have the draft capital to get him. The problem is if he goes to the Jets or Dolphins, we have him and Josh Allen in the conference. Winning gets a whole lot tougher.
Weather forecast has rain in Tampa Saturday and through early evening Sunday. That turf will be in poor condition imo and will be interesting to say the least...
Great question Tom. CEH just got back from injury and Bell not producing. Darrell Williams KC RB1? RoJo kind of quiet. Playoff Lenny 313 yards and 3 TDs in 2020 playoffs. 2020 Bucs 9-0 when Fournette gets 10 or more touches. Maybe Playoff Lenny is Bucs' secret weapon like Damien Williams last season for KC?
It's too bad a player cannot play with hs team mates IN SPITE OF ownership and management. It's a shame just one player can say F U to everyone, including his own team mates, and take his ball and go elsewhere. Nobody else on the team can do that, especially after just signing a huge contract - AFTER Hopkins was dealt. Are you going to tell me Watson had no idea he was going to do that? I think he knew exactly what he was going to do, I have little respect for him. Great player, I'll give him that, but he's just like LeBron in Cleveland...
Seems like no one is really excited about the Super Bowl. US bettors to wager $4.3B on Super Bowl, a big drop from 2020 https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/betting/us-bettors-to-wager-4-3b-on-super-bowl-a-big-drop-from-2020-2271703/ More than 23 million Americans plan to bet a total of $4.3 billion on Super Bowl LV, a 37 percent drop in expected handle compared with the figure from last year’s game. A new report from the American Gaming Association said the drop was expected and almost entirely caused by pandemic-led restrictions at casinos across the country. The largest declines are expected among retail sportsbooks and casual bets made in social settings, like pools or squares. The total count also includes illegal bets online and with bookies. Despite the dramatic overall drop, the AGA predicts this year’s game will generate the largest single-event legal handle in American sports betting history. “With a robust legal market, Americans are abandoning illegal bookies and taking their action into the regulated marketplace in record numbers,” AGA President and CEO Bill Miller said in a Tuesday news release.
This two week nonsense between the conference championship and the SB has to go away. The SB isn't even the biggest story in the NFL for the past two weeks, eclipsed by the Stafford trade & the possibility of a Watson trade. When you have a match up of the GOAT & a good pick for a future GOAT, in your premier event, & it is not generating buzz, then something is wrong IMO...T
