Man, I don't get some of these free agent signings. OR some of the player releases. I realize most of them are released because of $$$ salary cap issues, but it looks to me like Houston is going to be loaded for this season, and I don't know if I see Baltimore NOT getting to the SB with Derrick Henry. And I really don't understand the enamoration with Justin Fields, his stats don't justify at all the attention he is getting...
I say Marcus Mariota starts the season for the Commanders. On that same note I say Tyson Bagent will start the season for the Chicago Bears. Even number 1 draft picks need some experience . . . . Just ask Aaron Rodgers.
Someone should sign Jimmy G, I'm sure you'll agree the team that signs him will win this year's Superbowl.
Netflix rumoured to corner NFL Xmas day games. Eagles open in Antarctic and only available on a streaming channel in Mozambique. I love the NFL
Eagles start in the land of "futebol" against "os Empacotadores"! I'll like seeing the fan reactions. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jim, this is a Philly "home game". Again this year the Iggs have 5 night games, as they have for the past 5 years. That's not right.
Every year a couple teams get screwed. I think it was two years ago the Steelers played ONE game outside the Eastern time zone, and it was New Orleans. KC is who is getting screwed the most, by far, as they play a game on every 'day' of the week, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, that really screws you up. I think Carolina plays every game but one at 11am Eastern on Sunday. Teams would kill for that kind of a schedule - with maybe one game on Monday night.
Bloomberg For years, American football fans who want to spend Sunday afternoon flipping through games in different cities have had to shell out big money for the National Football League’s Sunday Ticket broadcast package. Now that might change. The package, which exclusively carries out-of-market games that aren’t broadcast on local network channels, is at the heart of a massive antitrust case in Los Angeles headed to a rare trial. Losing could cost the league billions of dollars.
I have subscribed to NFL ticket since the first season it was available. I was with DirecTV all that time. Now I'm on you tube and have to use Roku on two of my older sets. And now, to watch Eagles opener, I have to subscribe to Peacock if I want to watch it at home.
Problem is, the NFL rarely loses a case. The case John Gruden had against the NFL was a slam-dunk - and he lost. The only service I subscribe to is Prime - and not because of streaming. I look at all these different 'places' that you have to subscribe to in order to watch 'all' the games, and it's not just crazy, it's stupid. But it's ALL ABOUT creating crazy revenue for the owners. ANYWAY, I just go back and remind myself: It wasn't that long ago where we got two games on Sunday and MNF was also free on ABC-TV, and we were FINE. I love NFL football as much or more than anyone, BUT, I don't love it enough to go spend 'stupid money' just to watch a handful of games. Earlier I said I have Prime, mainly for free Amazon shipping, but even that is changing, it used to be free shipping on anything, then it was anything over $10, and today it's $25, and I don't spend near as much on Amazon, so I may have to rethink that. Besides a Thursday night NFL game, the only thing I watch on Prime is the Harry Bosch series, and those are ending after this upcoming season, I believe. In short, I'll just watch whatever is free over-the-air, or on Prime, because OTA is what I grew up with. I remember when going to a game was just going to a game, and tickets were $18 and parking was $5. Today, Cowboys nosebleed is $55. And you no longer go to a game, you go to an EVENT. I don't want to pay for a damned EVENT, I just want to go to a damned game... And yes, I know I am in the minority - because games keep selling out at the majority of the venues, if they weren't, maybe prices would change.
Yep - and that moron is STILL hanging around. Apparently the NFL didn't offer enough $$$ to pay him off.
Is anyone interested in predicting each teams FINAL regular season W-L record PRIOR to the season? I was watching some clown on TV that went thru each team, and he predicted GB to have a losing record, and Chicago to have a winning record. I think he also predicted Atlanta to have a losing record.... I have attached my 2024 season excel spreadsheet
No way in hell - unless Williams breaks a leg. The NFL designed the Bears first 8 games specifically to showcase Williams. I'm just going to go into '1975' mode: We lived with 2 games on Sunday and one on Monday night, so that's what I will live with now, except Monday will be supplanted with Thursday, or whatever 'Amazon Prime' gives me. I know you probably already have, but make sure your Roku's work, I had a Roku 2 that Roku antiquated out and no longer took updates, no longer works. I love my new ones - especially the ones with Voice Remotes... Anyone?

Like when Josh Jacobs signed with Oakland his rookie year: he delayed his signing bonus to the following year - in which they moved to Las Vegas. That saved him a million dollars, IIRC. And today, Jordon Love says he is holding out.... I wish we had more active football fans here on FC - we used to have a couple dozen, now we have a couple.
As a die-hard 49ers fan, I am sick of the Ayuk contract situation and I wish they would ship him out already. Anytime money is chosen over winning, it means you are not going to win. Even if they break the bank paying him, they have already squandered their chance of winning a SB (frankly I am convinced that they will never win with Shanahan anyways). I can't think of any scenario in the past where a hold-out has received his money, and then remained with that team, and they went on to win the SB.
I don't think he is worth it. IMO he is a VERY low-end #1, or a high-end #2 WR. He is not the type of a WR that will take over a game single-handidly like maybe 20-25 others we could name today, he's 'just a guy' on a decent team, and if he had spent the last 3 years in Carolina or New York we would not even know who he is. I wish ALL owners would collude and refuse to renegotiate a contract already in-place, these morons (players) signed it, now they need to honor it. And if they choose to walk away, so be it, the NFL will be fine without them. Just ask LeVeon Bell...
Apparently the Steelers have a deal in place for Aiyuk. If they offered a first round pick 49ers would have to accept but I can't imagine PIT being that dumb.
We have a simple pick'em league here, it's dwindled down to just a couple of players, and I keep the picks manually in a spreadsheet and post it here every week. I WANTED to do this on Yahoo! because it will track it for you, PLUS you can go several weeks in advance in case you may forget, or are out of town and cannot submit picks, but nobody wants to go that way. I also have a 'Draft' league going, the details are in the other thread about 2024 Fantasy Football. Going forward, anything about Fantasy Football should go in the Fantasy thread so they are easier to track...
I hate to see that happen to anyone, in any sport. BUT, he can learn for a year, many have, like that nutcase that's in NY now...
