In my post above - #6 - pics for week one - I listed both teams. Where I was picking SF, I did not make that clear, so I am going to mark it as a loss for me.
Were the 49er's hot, or did Pitt suck? Dallas D looked great, Dallas offense looked like crap. The Texans ARE a great team - they have GREAT players nobody has ever heard of, possibly because they are not in a huge media market. That said, Baltimore looked bad. I was the only one to pick GB. People forget GB lost only Rodgers - and when he missed a game AT KC last year Love filled in and did OK. In the meantime, Chicago picks up retreads from other teams and thinks they will turn it around.... (LOL) Cinci's performance did surprise me, although I should not have been surprised, Burrow hasn't played in over a month. Vikings............ had a LOT of yards - and could not find the end zone. They only lost by 3, they will improve. I thought Jax didn't play well at all, and Seattle DID surprise me, as did Denver. For Denver to lose AT HOME to Vegas, that seems odd. New Orleans stunk, Philly was unimpressive, NE played well, the Rams played beyond their skiis - or did they? Rams may be like Houston - a lot of good players nobody has ever heard of..... I picked the Jets tonight - not because of Rodgers - but because it seems like Buffalo was taking a step back... ?
I think 49ers are hot... will be probably in NFC Champ again with Eagles... we can come back to this thread in January, but I still see the Cowboys as #3 to those teams. Steelers are rebuilding, good new young QB, but will take time for it all to mature. I agree that Buffalo seems to have taken a step back... we will see tonight how they play against Jets.... but I think they already missed their window. Vikings I'd put in the same boat as the Bills... also missed their window and will fade from last year's record. Texans yes agree on paper have all the pieces now... hopefully won't take too long to figure it all out.
Yeah, the Vikings - and the Cowboys - don't have a lead RB. Maybe they are trying to mimick KC - but they don't have the 2 or 3 guys to do it.
The 49ers were hot, no question, their defense looks dynamite....and Brock Purdy picked up where he left off. But also Pitt is not who they used to be either...but that does not diminish what the 49ers did to them. I agree about Dallas, only because their head coach always lays an egg when it counts the most (ie the last two playoff games vs the 49ers)....but Dallas defense looks impressive too.
