Since my 456 engine is dissassembled at the moment, it gives me the oppurtunity to have the optimal plugs fitted. The plugs that were installed are NGK DCPR9EVX, the ones that Ferrari recommends for the 456 are Champion A59GC. NGK's have a built in 10Kohm resistor, which is good for RF suppression. The champion has no such resistor, which should help to have a shorter and hotter spark. But at the end the only thing that counts is, which plug does the engine like most. Anyone with experience on this subject, willing to share it ?
Hey Hans I would use NGK Irimac9 It feels bunch smoother than the stock plug. I don't know if they are avail in your country, but I can get them for you if you can't. I have used many plugs, and this works very well. At least I think so. Jimbo
Hi Atsushi, Thank you for your reply. You are quite right about the irimac9, they only seem to exist in Japan. Is this a plug with or without resistor? For a guy, 27 years of age, you seem to have had a fair part of automobilia already, good for you.
Hi Hans. thank you for your comment. yeah. I got lucky about cars... My job is related to cars, so it is part of the reason. =) anyhow, I just called NGK, and they have registers in them. (I didn't even think about them. hehe..) It works very well, and the price isn't much more. I bought them for about 1700Yen each. so x12 that plus like 5bucks shipping I think it was. I will be more than happy to help you. So far they have been very smooth! =) Best regars Jimbo
Hi.. I went through the same dilemma sometime ago. Here is the link below where we chat about it.. I ordered NGK's from USA since they were not available in Turkey as well. Works smooth... happy about it.. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=131125&highlight=NGK
Yes, you are right. It smoothes out the feeling of the engine I think. andfor what it does, I think it's quite cheap.
I also ordered a new set from NGK USA and just put them in. The engine is smoother revving and it seems to be on one of those energy drinks.
