Wow, Edmonton making a series out of it....I'd love to see this go 7 games...Florida may choke it away in game 7 if it does, after being up 3-0.

Born and raised Edmontonian, the city is electric. While we are the 4th/5th largest in Canada, it seems like a small town. Driving around last night after the game was incredible. Horns honking, fans cheering, seems like a million jerserys, a sea of orange and blue. The whole city is alive and united.

    One more win baby!!!

Now South Florida has won championships in all four major team sports. How many other cities or metro areas have done that?

I really enjoyed the game, and the BEST part is the Refs didn't figure in the outcome.
Either team could have won and I would have been Ok with it.

    A few.

Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia...

Some 'big' areas don't have all four Pro sports, Pittsburgh doesn't (NBA), Milwaukee/Green Bay doesn't (NHL).
But all have won in the three sports they either do or did have.

If you want to go back further than the NFL Super Bowl, that would change it, or if you
want to go back to the stone age (1920's - 30's - 40's - 50's) that will change it.

I still think throwing rats on the ice isn't a good look for FL.

Its over. On to next year. Kinda wish a Canadian team won if the Knights couldn't do a back to back (it was rather obvious the Knights were not going to repeat in Jan/ Feb). So to some degree its a disappointment but not a big one. FL beat some really good teams along the way. It was almost the biggest choke of all time but they managed to pull it out when they really needed it.

Congrats to Edmonton for the comeback of the year both in the season and in the cup finals. They still have 2 of the best players in the league and one of the best powerplays in the league. Just 2 goals shy of the cup in game 7 isn't something to be sorry about.

It actually was a lousy finish to the game. Puck stuck in the corner for the last 20 seconds, Edmonton didn't even get a decent chance to tie it...no excitement. Most of the game was like that not many quality chances for either side.

I agree. Not a lot of drama in the game but I also blame that also on the commentators who were lifeless the entire series.

In the last 2 minutes Edmonton already looked beaten. No spark.

I haven't watched hockey for 10-15 years, so no memory...but, does the ice get slow everywhere/nowhere at the end of June? I wasn't impressed with the speed of the game. Watched only games 6 & 7.

If you want to go back in time, you can add Detroit and St. Louis (though two of St. Louis' champions later left town!). There's also Washington and, if you want to stretch things a little, Toronto! (Do 18 Grey Cups equate to 1 Super Bowl?)

I'm still amazed that San Diego, the 7th largest city in the U.S., is now stuck with only baseball. It's as if the people who allocate teams treat S.D. as a suburb of L.A., which it is definitely not!

And perhaps the most overlooked region in the country is San Antonio/Austin. These are two of the 12 largest cities in the country, and all they have is basketball!

I know, I implied that when I said:

"If you want to go back further than the NFL Super Bowl, that would change it, or if you
want to go back to the stone age (1920's - 30's - 40's - 50's) that will change it"

I was also implying ALL the other sports as well.

I saw that. I was just adding those cities to satisfy the curious. But what other sports would you add? The only other team sport competed between cities that I know of is soccer, and that's really too recent.

McDavid with abdominal muscle injury likely requires surgery. Draisaitl broken rib and finger in game two of cup final. I guess that explains some of the issues near end of series for the Oilers inability to get the top line going.

Frankly I am disappointed to see the Panthers win the cup. Second most penalized team in the league and routinely voted “dirtiest” along with bandwagon fans with rats and all of their other antics is bad for the sport.

This is the problem with games at the end of the year. The injuries pile up but the players play through it as best they can instead of taking time off. Plenty of time now.
