Well I am pretty excited there will be hockey again this year. I know many on here don't care but I do. The players obviously won't be making as much money as before but hopefully the league will be better off. The first thing the players may want to do is fire Bob Goodenaw. His negotiations with the owners was very "George Costanza-Like". Basically the players held out for less money. They were offered a hard cap of approx $42.5 million per team in March. Now it will be $39 million but that includes benefits.

There is only one group stronger than NHL Owners.

    NHLPA? Nope.

NHL wives who know their husbands have no other marketable skills than playing hockey! I bet they all enacted their own personal "lockout" and brought the players to their knees!

    I am done with Hockey.

I was a diehard fan but no more.

I felt the same way after the baseball strike. I have not been to a game since.

I think I will look into watching Darts on ESPN3. That seems like a fun sport.

Jeremy Roenick is on his way to your house and before you know it you'll have to have a smack down with this former hero turned whine-o who claims the NHL doesn't need 3 out of the 4 fans it has left.

    LOL!!

I remember back before Wayne joined the kings. I would call the ticket office and get ice side seats the day of a game. I would ask what time the game started and they actually replied, joking of course, "when can you get here?"

I suspect those days will back.

What do you expect from a country who's national sport is "la cross" (sp?) which is French for masterbation.

And with the new composite shafts they're using, I guess they're supposed to shoot harder and faster but there is a big problem with them snapping in half. Ouch...

You have to give Canada credit though. While our boys were busy trashing their hotel rooms and Chelli and Hull were surfing oriental hookers down the stairs in a drunken state ( which somehow the hangover lasted into the next Olympics, ) Gretz stood up for his team. Over the controversy of a lost art amongst a nation during their first few poor performances last Olympics, he stood by his guns and promised good results. They got the gold and our boys got a hotel bill one session, a bruised ego the next. However, I bet those parties were a blast. And while glory may get the gals eventually, I have yet to see Mark Recchi talking about showing his toe curve to fellow Canadian Natasha Henstridge. He's too worried about finding a mouse in his Molson eh? At least he has the golden necklace bling to get some action unlike our US team.
