Nibbles banned again

At first, some thought it was MM because of all the posts in P&R. Quite funny.

 

Good poll - I don't recall exactly what the final straw was, but I think he's realized the error of his ways & is likely the only permaban worth lifting.

allanlambo stays kaput, though. He just hates Ferrari.

 

I wouldn't mind seeing both Allan and Nib's back but for different reasons. Allan was a pain in the ass sometimes but he was also an interesting guy who wasn't afraid to piss people off. I would probably step in to moderate his posts from time to time but that's really just a part of the job. As for Nib.... I have never talked with him personally but I know a little by way of other folks on the board. He seems like a good guy but he is also a little too forcefull in speaking his mind. Not that he is the first one on this board......

From my perspective both Allan and Nibs went wrong by not knowing when to step back a bit. They both went up against Rob who is obviously the biggest gun around here. Of course Allan has his own board and doesn't need FC so that point is kind of moot but I would say that if Nib would like to be a part of this community he should plead his case to the man. It would be a tough thing since he has tried coming back under another name and got under the spotlight for a lot of the same things but if he could find a way to reign in the emotion I don't see why he couldn't be a contributing part of this community.

 

Others have come back and have been accepted after far worse infractions....

I mean ****, anything's possible. Art and I broke bread and had a great dinner, JSL himself has forgiven him, why can't P-Nibby come back?

 

What was his other name on F-chat?

 

Ellen is a PITA and I don't think the sponsors would think they're getting full value if we started smearing more crap all over the place.

If Nibbs can play by the rules (and write an acticle for Velostrada ), then what they hey...

 

I didn't mind his posts, it was just the annoying username this time (****) that started to wear thin. He seemed apologetic and took his medicene when caught however, and that was the least amount of drama I've seen around here in a while.

When was MM banned? It must have been before i started my new job, beacuse now I actually have time to use the internet.
I voted no mainly because i share CMY's feelings about his username. It was almost as annoying to look at as his posts were to read. In addition, he posted negative comments about my spelling and grammar which were not true.

edit- oh crap- i voted yes by accident. I thought the vote was to keep him banned. Can a mod please erase my 'yes' vote?

If you're going to allow him back, be prepared to either change the rule or do it for everyone like him that comes along and NOT on a case by case basis. Personally, I think relisting under a different name after one has been banned is fine as long as that user apologizes and agrees to a probationary period.

Having said that, I'll add this. Until the rule is changed, it seems clear to me it must be abided by and enforced. If the rule isn't favored, then change it and go from there. What good are rules if they're not followed with fear of penalty?
