Saw this on ebay. Does anyone know this car? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/92-RED-MANUAL-5-SPEED-SPECIAL-EDITION-LOW-MILES-5K-FL_W0QQitemZ310027165889QQihZ021QQcategoryZ157043QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
YEAH.....they are all 5,000kms....and the dash where the shifter is looks like it has alot more pretty car though...looks clean....i question the 5k though until further inspection.
There is NO WAY this car has only 5K miles. All interior pics of the car suggest serious mileage plus an abusive owner. How could you rip the seat's leather and scratch the interior that badly when the car supposedly is rarely used... unless it was used as a workbench in some carpenter's garage.
Dean, in which pic did you see a rip in the leather? Not doubting you, just curious. I checked Carfax. Last entry was 6/27/96 for a title issuance in NJ. Mileage at the time was 3525. Something seems odd. Only 1600 miles put on the car in the last (nearly) 12 yrs? I'd feel better about the car if it had 50k miles but with a fully documented history.
you mean people are selling 348's that have hardly ANY miles on them?? what a joke. must have been hard driving that car all those years with the odometer unhooked and no speedometer to tell you how fast you were going let the masses drive down the high mileage Fcars based on "mileage" then i'll scoop those up and enjoy
Looks pretty and is 15/100. Still, a 1992 car. I wonder what it will go for. Anything in the 40's is a steal. My guess is they want low 60's. Somewhere in between is market correct, IMO. Too bad it's not black...
I agree with oengus. That door still looks pretty rough for only 5k miles. Did the previous owner drag metal golf spikes over the sill every time he got in or out of the car?
Mark, Take a look at those pictures taken from the actual website (not Ebay)where the car is posted at. Notice the panel>>> there is no way this has 5K miles with this condition http://www.getauto.com/autolinks_cardetail.html/adid-12403102/e_dealer_id-/inventory-/x_group_id-wu Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It doesn't look too bad. The tear in the seat is the stitching letting go. Probably a BIG guy putting his hand on the seat to get in and out. It doesn't take much to screw up this "fine Italian leather" in our cars. A couple hundred to repair and it's as good as new. Overall, not bad for a sixteen year old car. Some sticky parts, but who doesn't/hasn't had that. If only I had enough garage space for another one... BTW... It looks like the glove box strut actually works... LOL..
