Guys I am leaving the brotherhood for a while to pursue a daily driver. For those of you who do not know this car it is among one of the nicest 348's in existence.
All stock, (except for 512 wheels) unmolested example, w/major service completed last month at FOA. All records since day one, only serviced by Ferrari etc. Just a clean, nice, well cared for 20,000 mile example only owned by FCA members.

Man, I'm sorry to hear that. I saw that car at Symbolic in San Diego before ecoloqua bought it and brought it out East. It looked great and it sounds like it has been well sorted since eqoloqua bought it. In addition to the wheels, it has chrome cavillino's front and rear and the painted rockers/roof which makes the car look more modern.

Question, do the front tires rub or hit at all when you hit bumps? I want to put wheels/tires on mine that were close to your size but the dimensions I took seem really really close to the front ribbed vent area inside front fender well when you turn> Let me know thoughts because that is a very sweet look!
Good luck with sale she is a beaut!

My 348 has 18 inch 355 wheels. Tires are 225/40/18 fronts and 285/35/18 rears with 25mm spacers on the rear. The car has been lowered in the rear and front too with no rubbing whatsoever.

I second that report with absolutely no rubbing at all.

If I were in the market for a 348, I would jump all over it. It's real nice, not silver like mine but real nice. With the history of the car, meaning no stories, service update, it is worth the price. You can buy a cheaper 348, but your going to end up spending money on it. On one end or the other, it is up to the buyers out there, to either spend the money up front or get nickle and dimed to death.

I call B.S. on that one. Sales prices depend as much on who is selling the car and their motivation (or lack thereof) as the condition of the car. If you give $40K for a 348, it's ludicrous to say that you're automatically going to spend $10K on it because you didn't buy it for $50K to begin with.

Things can and will go wrong on Ferraris, no matter how much you spend, and how many PPIs you get.

Forgive me, but I feel I must interject a little logic here. In my 12 month long search, I lost count of how many 348's I looked at. Some nice, some not so nice and some that I would not pee on if they were on fire. I can tell you this, you are not going to buy a nice 348ts for $40k. Period. At that price you are going to get a car with some sort of story and deffered service history which is the kiss of death on these cars. The current market says that well a sorted 348ts with a clean history is somewhere in the $50-58 range. Can you buy one for 40k?.. sure but you can expect it will need a major service ($5-7k) just to keep up. At that point you have 45-47k in a well serviced car but you STILL cannot erase it's past. It will still have a history of deffered maintainence and likely a tired interior. The bottom line is there are fewer and fewer 348's left out there that have been taken care of correctly from day one. Many have had a bad "foster parent" at some point and have some history of neglect. The term "there are no bargains" holds especially true for a Ferrari.

You get what you pay for, thats the bottom line. You buy a 1991 348 low to mid 40k's and no DOUBT your going to be putting money into it. You can also buy a 355 in the mid to high 50K's and again your going to be shelling out money sooner then later. You get what you pay for, that goes for most in life. Has I mentioned IMHO and no BS, its the buyers choice, Pay now or pay the mechanic later, or whome ever, even if your doing the work yourself, pay the parts counter when you walk out the store. And has we all know, parts aint cheap on any Ferrari.

Usually, but there are always exceptions. Some people price mediocre cars very high, and some people are desperate sellers and have unreasonably low prices on good cars. Patience and determination will yield favorable prices on good cars for those few (Husker) that are willing to do the search. Consider me 90% convinced.
