Here it is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1986-Ferrari-412i-/370438551489?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item563fdbb7c1 No affiliation. Great color combo.
looks nice. i saw a similar car last weekend in coronado at the vintage races. i could see myself enjoying a car like this.
Beautiful car --- looks like a very nice example. But, even if it's the nicest 412 in existence, $50K is awfully steep for 400/412, IMHO.
Very nice combo. I remember Dave's looking even nicer than this one. How about a pic for comparison purposes.
Yeah, you know Art I've always said the same thing about my car. Even though the paint code is appropriate for blue sera and I have no reason to doubt the sticker I think mine is blu tourbillon. Which is just slightly lighter. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mine is also a 5-speed 412 in blue sera, but my interior is blue. The tan is a nice contrast. Here is a picture of mine. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Another beautiful car and thanks for sharing but I'm calling for a poll. Best... Dave's. ... Call me later.
"......shhhhh that case of wine I promised you for voting for mine is on the way, but don't tell anyone! If these boozers find out I bribe people with vino they'll never leave me alone."
Did anyone notice the "Tim Stanford" generated invoice on this car? That would make me feel real comfortable. Cheers, Hank
So ..... Dave...... Just what is your "red" of choice, these days? Just may have to order a case................ Cheers mate, Hank
Hank, if I was a customer of mine and was getting a case of red I'd be getting a mixed case consisting of; 3 - Syrah, 4 - Reserve Zinfandel, 2 - Reserve Corvina Amarone, 3 - Reserve Pinot Noir. Thats a nice mix and covers all the the award winners this year.
By using the word "generated" are you saying that the invoice is faked? The text mentions that Tim Stanford has serviced the car since 1997. If those invoices are real, I would feel real comfortable that Tim Stanford has serviced the car over that period of time. If I was interested in the car, I would call Tim Stanford to confirm his work and then go see the car ( and invoices) in person.
That would give me a good feeling. Probably just short of warm and fuzzies. I'd call Tim of course but my guess is that the invoices were legitimately generated over some time. An injterested party would do this first thing. Particularly when it comes at a relatively dear price.
me too... my buddy went crazy over it... he loved the blue exterior and interior... his mom used to have one very similar to it... a 5 speed to boot!
And here I was led to believe five speeds were so very rare...must be the season. As an aside it would take about fifty large to get me to part with mine. I love it, buy hey, that's just me.
Has anyone actually looked at this car or know the seller? Price guides seem to think these cars are $35k tops - any thoughts?
Perhaps not, but it can sure solve a lot of misery. In my opinion, the 412 beautifully closes the 400 production series. A well sorted, well maintained 412 is a joy to drive. The 5 speed imparts a sporty feel to all aspects of road handling and the chasis weight distribution keeps it firmly planted to the pavement. It is a superb luxury sports salon. Whether a high forty thousand asking is a correct pricing only the market can answer. I would question the likelihood of a top dollar purchaser being found via Ebay. Ebay certainly gets the image out there. So then, the question becomes, does that image fall upon the proper appreciative eyes of a genuine buyer willing to pay top dollar for a outstanding example? In little more than two days we might have an answer. I for one wish both seller and purchaser good fortune. Life is to be enjoyed, not endured. Ferrari's represent the former.
i totaly agree..i posted my car for sale first on dupont and had only two calls so far in a week. I didnt want to post my car on ebay, but with such little response on dupont what could i lose? So only a couple days on ebay i have had about 15 calls and one offer. So i guess its really the way to go to reach out to the numbers.
i definitely have a soft spot for 412s 5 speeds. i just would not know where to get the helmet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWYIY-2R9n4
