I applied the nice idea of John on my gear shift. Instead of 1200 Grit sandpaper, I used the OP sandpaper which is the thinnest for final polishing the shift knob. To finish the whole job, I used the Swiss Wax Metal Polish which is a great product. It removes all the little scratches left by the sandpaper and makes it very shinny. It protects it also against grease, humidity or corrosion. For the 360 or 430, remember to use a 17mm wrench to unlock the nut right under the shift knob. This nut allows you to block the knob in the right position. It's a very easy job to do, just need a bit elbow grease to pollish it right. shining your knob like that takes some balls, particularly if you are a noob. I for one, am not nubile enough to rub long enough im such a confined space. (is this enough to close this thread?)
