the houston fca, led by our president Ged Farnaby, led us on a nice drive out to Hempstead to attend the county fair, and display our cars as part of the make-a-wish event for kids battling various illnesses and infirmities.
and i had a great time. it was very gratifying to show kids our cars, explain about them and let them sit in them etc.
then i participated in judging of the bbq cook off ! the food was mostly fantastic, and the conversation with the locals was really interesting.
you may think i dont have much in common with these folks, and i might not, but i really found the day enjoyable. we talked about food, cooking, cars, motorcycles, etc etc.

anyway, i dont have much more to say here other than i appreciate the people of texas more every day.

Transplanted New Yorker here. Am glad the missus dragged me down to Texas. Now when we go back, it takes me 10 min to be glad I don't live up there any more...T

I hear you, Jason. My wife is a South Texas blonde (originally from San Antonio!) and we were lucky to move here 16 years ago this summer. The OP's experience does not surprise me, everywhere we go - in the Ferrari or not - Texas folks are friendly, enjoyable people to be around, and talk with - we've had a good time with everyone we've met, from El Paso to Texarkana and from Dalhart to Brownsville...T
