Just had to post what a nice drive I had to work this morning in the old cat. On mornings when I wake up early, I'll take the long way to work to actually enjoy driving without all the usual traffic. It was 5am and there was no one on the road and the P was just humming. Going down the road, the V8 rumbling behind my head, the car just hugging the road. A tiny blip on the pedal and boom, you're doing a century with no effort at all. What a way to get to work!

Cool...! I didn't know you still have a Pantera. I have heard you talk about it, but I thought you sold it.
I have never seen one in person.
    Can I photograph it sometime?

BigAl..........very nice. (yea I get mine out every weekend, weather permitting, head on Mt runs/rides........ and love the car).

Thing I like most about it, is the pulling power it has "on hand" lets say at 60mph (or at any speed)........ slight touch of the throttle in 5th and you are instantly into the next century. (as you put it).

Very nice. How's the engine cooling? Is that sorted? Once P are sorted they seem to be great cars.

thnx Simon. A '74, had it since '88. Its a little wierd though; the VIN letters indicate late '73 but the numbers, '74 and its got a mix of '73 and '74 parts.
Got it on consignment from Pantera of Houston, which is no longer around.

thnx Nap. No probs, run the AC in the summer too. You're right, once they're sorted....

  10. I love the Pantera. Of course I am biased a little (profile has a picture of mine)!

It's really fun taking the Pantera out in cold weather too, you can feel a definite power increase. Free HP!

Yep, it's a pushbutton model. Very rare, less than 100 I think.

  20. It's a pushbutton, #1303. It came on the first shipment from Detomaso. It was a demonstrator car that traveled on a car carrier to promote Panteras. I got it from a vintage car racer out of Wesley Ca. The car has a little over 6000 miles on it. He took it apart in 1975, after buying it from Ford in 1972. The plan was to build an engine, paint it, etc. But he never got around to it, put it in a ocean container & forgot about it. He did the same thing to a 250 GTE also. I have put it back together, but it still needs paint. A real blast to drive, easy to work on, and fun to look at!
