    "... it is also nearly 8.0 sec a lap quicker than the Carrera GT, Porsche’s flagship supercar of the previous decade. Even on the latest Michelins that now make it significantly quicker and easier to handle, the Carrera GT is still marginally bested by the new GT3 RS.

    What makes the achievement all the more spectacular is the fact that this blinding lap time was set by a naturally aspirated 911 with a mere 500hp. Given that no production Ferrari or Lamborghini comes within 5.0 sec of the GT3 RS here, if that does not vindicate Porsche’s continuous honing of the 911’s rear-engine formula, then nothing does."
