The Miami Herald has a story about Pat Santangelo of the Florida Highway Patrol; many of us have met and supported his efforts through the Christmas toy collection for the Haitian church mentioned in the article. He's been along with us running escort on the Toy Rally too, and is a super-nice guy with a heart of gold. Looks like he'll be retiring soon... that's great for him but it will be a loss for the FHP for sure.

Great guy. I was talking to him just the other day, he didn't mention this.

Because of Pat, I have been able to find great homes for all of my furniture, many clothes for children, dolls, toys, etc. I am not taking much with me to Mexico, so he directed me to some wonderful people that really needed these things.

Pat nearly died twice, once he was shot while on duty and left in a ditch, another time from an illness. He makes trips to Haiti to do all he can to help out with the problems in that country. Incredible man.

I was planning on taking Pat and his wife to dinner before I leave the country, possible we can make it a group thing.

    Any input?

Great article, and an even greater person. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors and retirement.

He is a great guy, often seen on the news. I think a group thing is a good idea. Showing support for him for a change is perfect! I'm in!
