What other IWCs does she have? I've always liked 'em.

Nothing boring about a white face Rolex Daytona. One of the most classic and beautiful watches in the world.

To each his own. That watch does nothing for me. I don't understand the Daytona hype.

I'm with you, never really liked Rolex. My opinion is great marketing but that's about it.

If you're still looking, LVHM (the company that owns Tag and a bunch of other brands) is having their annual Friends & Family sale.

    https://www.lvmhpartners.com

    Code: FFSALEWINTER09

This is legit, they do it every year. The watches come with the standard 2-year warranty, etc. There are a lot of Tags on here selling for 50%-70% off of MSRP.

I don't really care too much for them usually, but at these prices a Carrera Chronograph for $1600 is tempting.

There are some great deals on there indeed. Too bad there's nothing I want right now! :(

I need to get in on a friends and family deal with Audemars Piguet :)

I've had a X-Wind for about 1.5 years now, my first "nice" watch as a gift to myself for getting my MBA and first "job". I absolutely love it and like that no one else around here has a Hamilton. Great quality and fantastic look, I have the metal bracelet and white face.

Any of the Tag Link watches are very nice and well made, and in your price range. You could also get a few Breitling models for your price (check out the colt), and even more if you go the used route. Check out the for sale section of www. Breitlings*urce .com. I acutally just sold a Breitling Superocean Heritage 46mm for $2500.00 wish I would have known someone on here was looking for one at the time!

I'm not too big a fan of the Link series but I'd say go for the Carrera chronographs all day long...CV2010 or CV2016...or CV2050 for that matter.

I have a 10 high end watches, the nicest of which is an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak chronograph (MSRP 19k)...and I end up wearing my CV2010 a lot of the time. I bought it used for 1500. Also have a CV2050 but don't wear it as much. All of these, in my opinion, are nicer and nicer-looking watches than any of the Link series.

    Check them out on Ebay.

Sorry I let this thread die a long time ago. I did finally receive my watch about 8 months or so ago and I love it. Not one problem. I have bumped it into multiple things to my dismay, however not a scratch on it.

Drum role... I got a TAG aquaracer Waf1010. This one to be exact...

If someone could tell me how to imbed the picture I will. Thank you everyone for the help and discussion.

Nice watch you've got there laxn23,

i just thought it may be an idea too late for you,

but for your next $2k, you may want to look at Longines Legend Diver,

    cheers,

Interesting read through this old thread...

I recently received a TAG watch (Calibre 6 RS) and a Coach bag (Harrison Leather Slim Brief) as gifts... That TAG was my first real watch from my wife for graduation and more or less a surprise. She chose from a wide variety of brands listed here and chose what she felt fit me. The watch looks excellent with a suit and dresses down pretty well too.

I hope to add to the collection in the near future, but will be branching out from the aforementioned status quo. :)
