Woke up this morning and checked my Chase account to find that there are 2 new transactions that I did not make. Seems someone got a hold of my wife's debit card number and charged $1,398 to College Sports Network (I'm sorry but that's a LOT of college sports programming if they would use the time it takes to watch all those games and focused on getting a job they wouldn't have to worry about stealing other people's credit card information) I called them and there were no answers at their telephone lines. They then tried to hit a Jewelry store in Boston's online store for $2,198.00. I called the store and they said that they won't ship to a shipping address that is different than the billing address on the card (seems like common sense to me). They were VERY helpful at the jewelry store and said that there are attempts all the time for this sort of thing. Their IT guy is out till Monday, but I am hoping that he will shed a little more information on where this idiot wanted jewelry sent.

Called the bank and canceled her card and now have to go about getting a new card issued etc. Should be a fun afternoon. WHOOPIE!!

Thats a sh!tter to start the new year. Hope it all gets sorted!

I was in a similar sort situation last year (end of january). Wallet was stolen, £160 cash ($320 at the time!), cards, drivers license...the lot. Thankfully they didnt get anything from my cards. Cancelling and getting new cards wasn't an issue luckely, I thought I was going to have to deal with stupid call centre's all morning explaining im not dying from Syfellis but just wanting a new card. It was a 2 minute phone call and 2 days later I had my new card! Hope it's as easy as this for you:).
