    Hey,

Considering all the "debates" over how much of an advantage Ferrari had as a long-time Bridgestone runner at the start of the season I found this quote pretty interesting - From Nick Tombazis (Chief designer btw):

"This year the tires were not known to us until very late in the process as Bridgestone had a new specification of tires to supply the whole field and did not want to give any team an advantage by letting them know the specification any earlier."

I don't have the exact date of the quote, but the context of the complete article suggests late May (just after Spain).

    Cheers,
    Ian

That's correct. Fernando Alonso said the same thing on Speed TV during the US GP. " We all started from zero"
This years compounds are completely different and no team had an advantage .

Ahh, but when he said it, everyone here claimed it was just Alonso's usual "whining nature"..... :D

I wish we would just go back to true slicks so we wouldn't see all this slipping and sliding. If you've seen the GP2 race Sunday morning you'll know what I mean. They were banging wheels and sidepods as if they were in a Nascar race.

With this years tires ( Harder compound, Grooved tires) you cannot overdrive the car. You need to be right at the edge and not go over. At least that's what I've heard most drivers say.
