Well, I may be in the lower tier here, but I like him as an actor. And I like his movies.

Hopefully this get's all sorted out.

Actually, I saw one of his former cars this summer in the Hamptons. I think it was a 430 and it had a plaque on the center console stating that it was made for Nicholas Cage.

I'll see if I can find a pic.

Maybe not the greatest actor but he does put alot of energy into his roles..guy has a kind of natural charm too. He's a car guy and loves Ferrari's and it's sad he got ripped off.
    My advice:

Buy a copy of Quickbooks and learn how to use it.

Pay all your own bills with checks you write yourself.

    Good luck.

He's no less a regular guy for his line of work or fame (and I think a few of you need to see Wild At Heart or Raising Arizona!). I'm sorry to hear of the loss -- especially from someone he trusted -- but his bankability means he'll likely recover. Best of luck dude.

He owns/has owned a number of vintage and modern Ferraris. I believe he's had an Enzo from new and at one point owned a 250 Cal Spider, 275 GTB among others A-list classics.

I have to ask if anyone other than myself could see how this thread could be a little offensive? I have no idea if Nick Cage is a member here, but I certainly wouldn't doubt it. Placing myself in his shoes, I can only say I'd be a little offended by comments like "Nickie needs some dough" and, "It's ok Nickie Boy we'll buy your cars, what do you own?". If I'm way off on this please correct me and I'll take no offense. After all, it's just my opinion. :)

I hope he isn't forced to sell all of some of his cars.

I play in a game right next to his (one of his?) old beach house. It seemed like most days there would be a team of detailers bringing several cars up from the garage and meticulously detailing them in the driveway. It was like a Playboy shoot for cars, he has/had some beautiful hardware.

As I recall, he sold that place for a very nice profit too. Maybe he was in charge of that one himself.

    1) He's a public figure, and makes money on his notoriety and presence in the public eye. The plus side is millions of dollars to be in movies. The downside is people talk crap about you who don't even know you. This thread is the downside

    2) There is an element of envy and jealousy that plays out in these threads. No matter how nice or how humble or how selfless someone is, there will always be a bonehead that comes along and revels in their suffering because they're jealous that the person has so much more than they have.

The simple fact is you (nor any of us) are not in his shoes --- so you can't assume he feels the way that you imagine you would. He's a celebrity --- this is part of that "job description". Also, he has been one long enough that I'm quite certain he is completely immune (i.e., "doesn't give a fat rat's ass") to what folks like us say (post) about him.

I'm big baseball fan (Yankees, in particular). And, if you have ever been to a game in Yankee stadium, it is unbelieveable how tough the crowd can be at times --- even on players of their own team!! I've personally seen players absolutely "tortured" by that crowd ---- but, I've never seen any player break down and cry or even have to leave the game :) And, that's not just because, "There's no crying in baseball". It's because that's part of the game, they are pros, they are used to it, and it simply doesn't affect them.

regardless of his abilities as an actor, getting ripped off is terrible...period. if the man is in fact a member of this forum; reading this thread just rubs salt in the wound for him. similar thing happened to billy joel and many other actors. his manager should be the one that is being criticized and even jailed. leave the guy alone and MYOB!

I was thinking that a lot of people have had a downturn in their investments due to the economy. I am sure that will be the defense of these charges. I too have lot money in the last several years.
On a personal level I like the guy. I think he is a good actor and like his movies. If he was screwed then I hope he gets his money back. I don't care if he made a fortune or if he still has a fortune it was his and he deserves it back. I feel bad that he is having tough times.

My personal opinion of Cage is that he got his opportunity, made the most of it, and played to his strengths instead of his weaknesses with regard to his roles. Instead of sitting back in playboy mode he has gotten better at his craft over the years and has come a long way from his beginning efforts. I respect the fact that he continues to commit himself to steady work instead of taking several years off between projects.

I think it is heinous that anyone should have to endure the pain of having a lot stolen from you and the pain is doubled when it was done by someone you knew and trusted...

I personally feel for the guy...

I agree. I also understand that many feel when a person like an actor has problems it's somehow rumor news. I wonder how one of our long time f-chat members would feel having a thread dedicated to picking their career apart online, and every one voicing their opinion why their such an ******. Cage is a Ferrari enthusiast and also posts here. Give the guy a break. Even the thread title is totally disrespectful. If I was Mr. Cage I'd be busy telling you guy's to go screw yourselves.
