Anyone heard anything about a fine for Rossberg? I noticed that when Nico crashed out he walked away without replacing the steering wheel back on the car.

Checked out the rules and rule 30.5 says: "A driver who abandons a car must leave it in neutral or with the clutch disengaged and with the steering
    wheel in place."

IIRC other drivers who have done the same (wrecked car or not) have been fined....

    anyone else notice this?

in a crash, if the car is movable, then the driver must put the steering back, and put it in neutral. i remember Webber threw the steering in Monaco after the engine gave up, he was running in 2nd or 3rd, back in 2006. don't think he was fined.

If I was on the team I'd want him to put the wheel back on the thing costs 30k.

After an impact like that, it's a task to figure out which part of the shoes go toward the ground. ;)

Forget the steering wheel, he did the right thing by getting out of the car quick. If it was me I would much rather pay a fine and lose a 30K wheel than have a car hit me while I was trying to put the damn thing back on.

OTOH, i wonder what would have happen to DC had he gotten out of the car fast enough. seriously, i think Seabass went on top of some debris before hammering DC's car.
