The cable in post 267 is a din connector that could have been used with 80s technology cell phone I just pulled an 80s cell phone out of my DeLorean and it had connectors like that by the way I believe that that style antenna was an inductance antenna and may not have required drilling I believe if you contact the CA DMV that they can give you the information about the registration about the car, for a nominal fee remember that most "celebrities" held cars in their business names for anonymity so be aware to do some more sleuthing
I think that type of antenna only worked on glass and that the ones installed on metal panels still required a hole in order for the cable to have a physical connection.
IIRC some antennas of the day were magnetic. Stick the antenna on somewhere, run the cable through the louvers of the rear deckild and then through the mesh (hence the hole).
If the antenna does not fit,..must we acquit? had to!... couple of points: I think that I (awhile back, either PM or email, can't remember) steered the previous owner (Jon) towards Gaylord Flynn, who previously owned his car. Jon stated that someone attached to the family or case told him the family had sold the car via broker to someone named Gaylord. Mr. Flynn had purchased the car unaware if (IF!) there was any Brown family connection. Jon stated that he had found paperwork with his car that did have Mr. Flynn's name. Soo.. Either Jon was lying (I have absolutely NO reason to believe this based on what he has stated) or Someone else named Gaylord bought an almost identical car at around the same time and place.. I think the vin has got to be on legal paperwork or via a title search (other than carfax) Ok.. OJ.. (I have to!) I f they framed him with the bloody shoe prints, why didn't they leave them (the "ugly ass" Bruno Magli's that OJ was proven in the civil case to have lied about not owning) somewhere where they could have been found??
I have the same antenna on a SoCal car. There are holes drilled for the antenna. There is a curved spine that runs through the middle of the rear trunk lid on the bottom side. They used that for reference to drill the holes. The interior panel must be pulled away to see the holes. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Correct on both counts but there is still ZERO hard proof that Gaylord Flynn owned the Nicole car. As sated before. All heresay so far.
It is not necessary to drill a hole, an inductive coupled antenna works very well through non ferrous metals like aluminum. I have a 90's one on my Mondial coupe and there is no hole. In the mid 90's they were popular as a rear window antenna for the cellular GSM networks. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is the deck lid aluminum too, or is it just the engine lid that's ali? I thought the deck lid was steel, and that's where the antenna was on NS's Mondial.
The engine cover, rear lid, and front hood, are all aluminum. But that specific antenna she had on the car is hard wired. The rear lid could have been repaired or replaced, but I doubt they could match the paint. The whole car would have to be re-painted.
Ok so I didn't tear apart the deck lid yet, I peeked behind the cloth panel but didn't notice anything. But I found another cable tucked in the carpets under the passenger side rear seat while I was installing some seat covers. Looks like a 2 conductor wire. I haven't traced it out yet. (Wife and kids made me go to the zoo). Here are a couple pics. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi I went to reel art . com and they have copy of will. I see a page with the vin number and will of car. I don't know how to attach it. It seems legitimate to me but I'm not a lawyer. It may answer your question.
Wow, so after over six years the (apparent) answer finally emerges. Gotta say I'm surprised-- based on rarity alone it seemed there was a very good chance this was her car. Thanks, psy770. Very nice detective work on your part.
Flynn's statements. The picture of the antenna on Nicole's car, missing from the ebay car. The Carfax with title changes in 92, and 93, when Nicole would have owned the car from new to June 94. The evidence was already leaning toward the car not being Nicole's.
So the plaintiff's exhibit sticker on the manual, "discovered" by the op or rather by his father, was planted there by Det. Furman?
Exactly. My immediate Google search (just like everyone else ) yields nothing. Still in the family perhaps?
