It's been a while since I posted. I check in though.

These vids are worth the info for anyone considering purchase with/without intent to DIY. I would like to know his parts source, because his #s were about 1/10 the amounts I experienced (and were available). The first vid motivated me to replace pads and rotors...so I did. Thanks to FerrariPilot for his aftermarket rotor supply (on ebay); he even came over to my house to deliver (personalized service). Did a full fluid replace as well. Test drive was good.

First vid at 16:45 discusses why so many have burnt fuel pump electric lines on the relay board (mine did: I re-did all of that).

I would like some opinion about steering rack play discussed in first vid. I re-lubed the rack recently and it seemed fine; when on jacks and the steering wheel unlocked, I can rotate the front wheels by grabbing a front rotor, but I did not discern any looseness/play. The car has 67K on it so I don't think the rack should be factory tight. Please advise. My guess is that I would require replacement/refurb by 80K.

Another item is shock fluid replacement. Is there a thread on doing that?

From the 3rd vid, I discovered that I installed my thermostat about 25degrees off; haven't had cooling issues though.

These vids should be a sticky because the amount of $$$$$ discussed on recovering deferred maintenance needs to be considered before purchase, even if DIY is planned. They mentioned >$100K for recovery of deferred maintenance here.

    This was the intro vid:

That car remind me of the 328 that was discussed here with a $130K maintenance bill from Donny. The car sold a few weeks back on BAT.
I wonder if it's the same car.

I looked and it's not the same car. The other one had red interior.

I tried but cannot watch it. Hes such a lying sack of excrement. And I don't find him very knowledgeable on the cars either.

I take the last part back. Hes completely clueless.

    Thanks, Brian.
I was hoping a pro might chime in. These guys were a very superior in their attitude, but I thought some of the info was good. They made it seem like the factory was at their beck-and-call for any NOS part they wanted, and at 1988 prices.

My takaways were: 1) I should change pads and rotors: DONE (brake fluid changed as well; FerrariPilot sourced the rotors); 2) I think my rack is good until 75-80K (I'm at 68K now, and will be saving up), and; 3) I wonder about shock maintenance.

Unlike the Germans Ferrari used a very hard grade of iron on their rotors. On cars built prior to the 360 I can count the number of rotors I have replaced on 2 hands for sure, possibly one hand. I am aware of Ferraris with over 200,000 miles on original rotors.

Good shock rebuilds are more expensive than new Konis. Pacific Shock just tells you if new is available and you want stock shocks just buy new.
The steering racks were not a very high quality piece. Its just a matter of time. Typically its the support bushing at the right end of the rack gear. It will move up and down more and more making steering sloppy. I have seen some killer prices on new racks. Probably cheap knock offs but unlikely much cheaper in construction than OE.

Depends what parts you are talking about. Of the part I did see not a single part was NOS. It was all new production..

Didn't he say he gets the nuts, bolts and screws in the bag from that day of production.... whatever that means ???!!!

    That infers NOS.

    I call bull$hit.

    Its complete BS.
He is one of those guys we all hear stories about that really does say and do all the things we say "Who the F would believe that?" Just goes to show how stupid some people are.
The only thing missing is an Italian accent and a claim Enzo personally hired him for the F1 team. There used to be hundreds of those guys floating around in the 60's and 70's.

I guess Donnies laying on of the hands does not have the value some seem to think it has.
The fact that A Hole is on Youtube, TV whatever is an embarrassment to this entire profession.

It just show people with no knowledge at all can be screwed easily by pseudo expert.
At least there are still good shops around.

This guy to me sound like an ultra fussy owner who overdid his own cars and became known as a meticulous person
by the surrounding crowd and got a swollen head and claimed himself as an expert over time.
Now he is overdoing things on clients cars and is not shy to charge WAY TOO MUCH.

    Sad to see that happening.

Look at Donny's face when they talked about the seats. Donny was begging him to let him do the seats but the owner said NO. The owner know it would have cost around 5000 as he probably had some done in the past by SOMEONE ELSE. But Donny looked in other direction because he would have charge over $15000 like he did to the other dude.
